Long before Joss Whedon entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator tried and failed to get a Wonder Woman movie off the ground for Warner Bros. He joined the project in 2005 and spent years writing the screenplay only to be met by constant resistance from studio execs who were for some reason against the idea of releasing a superhero movie featuring a female lead.
Not much has ever been revealed about Whedon's take beyond the fact that it would have featured Diana Prince fighting alongside Steve Trevor in the present day, but the script has now appeared online.
There appear to be some similarities with the Wonder Woman movie being released next month, but rather than taking on Ares, the God of War, the Amazon warrior instead squares off with Strife, the Goddess of Chaos. I've only had chance to have a quick look through, but it makes for an interesting read so feel free to check it out below before letting us know your thoughts in the comments section.
