And THE WINNER IS

I´m a huge Wonder Woman fan and Gal is certainly not my first pick, but I´m not upset.

Pros

1) I´m really happy that the actress chosen hasn´t an American Accent. I would be seriously pissed if they went with an American like in the cartoons.

Cons:

1) ZACK SNYDER having anything to do with this project. He totally screwed up Superman. I really don´t want him touching WW.

2) News was earlier this year that Chronicle Scribe "Max Landis" pitched a Wonder Woman movie to Warner Brothers. I will admit I honestly liked Chronicle, but if you go by this pitch he gave for Superman alarm bells start ringing, if he maybe the reason she´s being added to Superman Vs Batman. Is it perhaps because they´ve accepted his pitch and is it as absurd as the following:

3) I hope her addition to this movie means she will be getting an ORIGIN MOVIE of her own. Not that they are skipping her movie and she´s just being added to Justice League.

Other than that, I´m optimistic. ;) Suddenly they´ve sold me on Batfleck, a movie I was boycotting. I will wait to see media and reviews, but they´ve sold me with this news.

What are your thoughts on the casting? Do you think it´s leading to a solo movie? What do you think about max landis possibly being behind the movie?

Also how do people feel about Doomsday possibly being the villain in this movie? I do not like the idea of Snyder playing with Doomsday. No character development?!!! Mass Destruction rather than plot?!!! I hope this is just a rumor
Also Flash will be making an appearance. Is this just a few too many cameos or is this Justice League in disguise? I hope not because I want a Flash and WW solo movie before anything else happens in that universe. ZACK SNYDER, still really bothering me. Even more than Affleck.

So...It´s Avengers movie without any origin story...
DC - well done, first you made shitty Man of Steel, now another ruined movie.

Well, i don´t like wonder women choice at all. She needs to be bigger not so thin...

I don't get why Warner Brothers thought that today's April's Fools day. I mean they can't possibly have had actually chosen an anorexic woman that has shown absolutely no ability to lead a film (as far as i know) and that looks nothing like a princess from a tribe of female warriors for the role of Wonder Woman. Right?

Man of Steel was AWESOME. I'm sorry it wasn't the corny, 70's underwear-wearing Superman you probably wanted.

@Alphadog
You do know that she's gonna bulk up right, just like Faora and Henry did for Man of Steel.

Snyder did F up the Superman movie in my opinion as well.

And no not because I wanted a cheesy old style pants wearing superman, because I wanted an enjoyable, modern take on supes mythology. Something I hope they do with Wonder Woman, a task i think Snyder is not capable of at this point.

Take everything FreedomForLife says with a grain of salt. He thinks that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has better CGI than Iron Man 3 and Man of Steel. Remember, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has not even come out yet.

@MexicanSuperman, Nothing he said in this article warranted such a sarcastic, condescending remark. Seriously, try a little harder and add a little more to this conversation than that.

As for the actual casting, it isn't bad at all. She's gorgeous, has a great accent, she's a bit skinny but it's not like she can't hit the gym and bulk up a bit. Happens all the time. The Fast and the Furious franchise isn't the greatest barometer to measure someone's acting chops, so her acting isn't a valid complaint to me.

But having Wonder Woman in this movie at all is a terrible idea. Even if it's just a cameo, it'll be her, the Flash is going to be in it to some degree, Batman obviously, and Superman. It's just too much.

Throwing all these superheroes into a MoS sequel is such an obvious response to the fact that MoS didn't make as much money as the studio wanted and that this movie is facing crazy amounts of competition in 2015, especially from Avengers 2. More superheroes might equal more money, but I can almost guarantee the trade-off will be a lower quality of movie.

Instead of doing the smart thing and gradually build up the DC universe over several solo films over many years, they're rushing and being lazy. They're making shortcuts and turning a Superman sequel into Justice League 0.5. Ridiculous, IMO.

I meant no offense to the woman who never saw sunlight but if the executives wanted to go exotic (which is not necessary since she was made of clay and could look like anything and the amazons come from many races anyway) why didn't they go something like this

I love Man Of Steel... which is why I'm so annoyed by everything I hear about the sequel. First, it became Batman vs Superman - meaning Superman would have to share the spotlight rather than have his own proper sequel. Then they cast Ben Affleck and announced an 'older' Batman, and I thought "maybe it'll work, maybe Batman will be a mentor to Superman or something". Then there was talk of Nightwing, and suddenly it's like Superman's going to really struggle to shine in this movie. Now Wonder Woman's been cast, there are rumours of The Flash showing up, AND Doomsday may be the villain - meaning they're skipping right to a story that should be done way later (death and return of Superman), and they're throwing in most of The Justice League, meaning Superman's going to feel like a guest star in his own movie. They should have done this after a Man of Steel sequel, I mean, he was barely Superman in the first one, and the idea was that we'd see more of him AS SUPERMAN before they went down the Justice League route. And the other heroes deserved their own solo outings before Justice League too (well, maybe not Batman, everyone knows him and he's gunna be older this time so no need for another origin).

I have a bad feeling about this.

@AC1 - Agree completely, but I really hope this a cameo that will not mess up a future solo outing.

MOS was f%*king epic! If Wonder Woman will be portrayed as well as Superman I might start liking the character.

I started this news day out trying to give it all a chance.
Then I read into it. When I say that, I mean I read up on Gal Gadot, who I had never heard of before today.

She was Miss Israel. She was drafted into the required two-year service (I had a friend years back - massive nerd, had to do the same). She hasn't been in a lot of movies, and the most known are two of the Fast and the Furious movies (which I always have felt, embodies garbage). If you Google her, you will find more images of her half naked/nude than clothed. She has an accent that isn't too thick to be obstructive, but may still get in the way. She lacks energy and enthusiasm. She also weighs the same as my little sister, who is three inches shorter.

ALL OF THAT ASIDE...
Warner Bros has cast a model/actress who will be playing the VERY FIRST cinematic representation of Wonder Woman in the history of cinema. They have cast Gal Gadot as the most recognizable woman in comics.

This is like casting David Tennant as Superman, except he's actually fun to watch.

to be honest having thought about it tonight, it is an odd choice by snyder.

To be fair Lynda Carter was a model and she was a great Wonder Woman. but you´d think given the role they could have got someone a little more prestigious and I STILL THINK ZACK SNYDER AFTER MOS, is more a director who should be assigned to projects like fast 8. i just find everything he does suspect.

Well most actresses (if not 99%) these days were models beforehand. Every single actress appearing in GotG was a model before/during their acting career.

I honestly don't think Zack Snyder is the hack you make him out to be. There was a lot of influence from several other sources - Nolan and Goyer especially (you can see their influence JUST in how many flashbacks are present). If they can get past writing Superman like he's Batman, I think they'll be ok.

I'm okay with this news shockingly enough. She just need some meat on those bones and some fight training. I am still not convinced on the Batfleck thing. Scott Adkins would of been my choice. I just think having a 30 year old Superman and a 28 year old Wonder Woman next to a 42 year old Batman is ridiculous.
