The DC Extended Universe's films don't always have post-credits scenes, but as those stingers are most closely associated with Marvel Studios, that could explain why. Regardless, there have been zero reports that Wonder Woman 1984 has some sort of extra scene after press got to watch the sequel this week, but that doesn't mean cinemagoers won't get to see one!
Talking to Cinema Blend, director Patty Jenkins confirmed that the theatrical version of Wonder Woman 1984 will feature a special treat after the credits that hasn't been made available in early screeners.
"Let that be something to save for the audience," she explained, shortly after refusing to share any specifics about the scene. "Just because, God forbid, somebody writes about it, you’re like, ‘Well, then what fun was it? Now we should have just attached it to the end of the movie!’"
Whether this will start doing the rounds on December 16 when Wonder Woman 1984 arrives in countries like the U.K. and France wasn't revealed, but it would be a little unfair to deprive international viewers of the scene. Jenkins did, however, confirm that it will be attached to the film in theaters and on HBO Max, so you won't have to head to your local multiplex to watch it.
This secret stinger is a cool idea, and if nothing else, withholding it from press means it won't be spoiled before December 16. After that, all bets will most likely be off!
