Wonder Woman 1984 has not had an easy journey to the big screen. Shooting on the movie wrapped in 2018, but multiple delays have seen it slip further and further down the calendar to Christmas Day.
However, when it became clear to Warner Bros. that it would be impossible for the DC Comics adaptation to benefit from a proper theatrical run over the holidays, the decision was made to have the sequel debut on the big and small screen at the same time (courtesy of the struggling HBO Max).
Whatever happens next, Wonder Woman 1984 will almost certainly make a loss, but the studio was understandably concerned about Patty Jenkins' movie growing stale the longer it sat around and are using this opportunity to try to bring more eyes to the streaming service. It will, of course, be released in theaters overseas (including China) so there's a chance some costs will be recouped.
Regardless, a new international poster has been released today showing Gal Gadot's Diana Prince leaping into action and deflecting a bullet in her striking Golden Eagle armour.
This new costume has featured heavily in the sequel's marketing campaign since day one, so we now have to hope it has a decent showcase in the movie and not just used for an action scene or two! For the most part, it looks like the Amazon warrior will be wearing it during that final battle with Cheetah.
