Wonder Woman is both a critical and commercial hit so execs at Warner Bros. must be feeling mighty happy right about now. The movie looks set to restore faith in the DC Films Universe and should help turn things around for the genre as we finally get to see more female-led superhero releases.

It's no secret that Justice League director Zack Snyder is dealing with some issues in his personal life right now but the filmmaker managed to find the time to share his thoughts on it this weekend.

Snyder shared a gorgeous new photo of Gal Gadot as the Amazon Warrior on Vero this weekend with the caption "Proud." After casting the actress in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, he's no doubt pleased to see how well her solo movie has performed and has to be feeling pretty pleased regardless given his involvement in it. Have you seen Wonder Woman? Share your thoughts down below.

And Zack should be PROUD for casting her........

Again all the crap he took for casting her......people posting memes of her as a broom......saying she is too skinny and small......breast are to small.....no blue eyes.

Calling her Wonder Wafer......A board has more emotion.

He saw something in her...........and yet poor Zack will get little to nothing on credit for casting her as WW!

Patty and Gal should feel proud....this weekend many glass ceilings were broken. We finally have a female Super Heroine that little girls and boys can look up to.

It has been great to see how the community on this site have come together on supporting this movie. And in turn this should help catapult fans to support Captain Marvel when she hits theaters.

Zack was certainly on to something when he cast gal in the role.

@JohnGrayson - That's what I said from the beginning. Not even kidding. I was on teamGadot from day 1. Reasoning? There must have been something about her that made them want her.

@JohnGrayson - Some people give directors enough credit. I've given valid arguments of how good an actor she is on this site, but it never changed anyone's mind, and they never actually responded to my arguments, either (which I guess means they had no counter-argument).

I'm trying to understand this, and some of what I have seen so far here is that some people's definition of acting isn't a very accurate one. Some think if she makes no facial expressions, she can't act. Or if her dialect isn't exactly what they think it is, she can't act. And these are from people who aren't dialect experts nor great actors or directors, but they want to argue points that they are not even "qualified" to argue, and they don't want to accept that.

Anyway, you're right.

Everyone at DC should be proud. Wonder Woman was a triumph. As a devoted member of the Marvel clan, I will always give credit where it is due. Congrats to Patty and Gal and everyone else.

@ShellHead - Don't want to start anything but doesn't it p*ss you off even more that Marvel didn't do a Black Widow movie? I mean they have Scarlett freaking Johannson, an Oscar worthy actress, and they didn't have the confidence (foresight, whatever the reason) to take advantage of that? 13 movies in, with multiple appearances from her but no solo? Sigh.

Even in the comics Marvel has been trailing behind DC in diversification and when they did diversify they went the completely wrong route and alienated a shit load of their fans. Hope they learn from this and we get a Captain Marvel and other female hero movies soon. Of course, they'll have to make sense in the current universe but I'm sure they of all people can come up with something creative and cohesive.

Although, not going to lie, I'm pretty happy Wonder Woman got to set the trend, you know, considering she's also the first in the comics. :)

@Supafairy - This man, this is on point. I agree. I think marvel had a major lapse in thinking by not presenting a black widow movie earlier. DC has already introduced a few really strong female characters that are already going to be the highlight of a movie like wonder woman. I mean with the sirens movie on the horizon. Just cool to see DC take advantage of these awesome female characters and have faith in them so early. Same goes for batgirl and whedon, that was a genius move by DC. They are gonna have marvel handcuffed trying to squeeze out female superheroes now because DC has that market cornered. Maybe not cornered but they have the edge by a mile now with wonder womans success

I would also agree with your 2nd paragraph the diversification. It is one of the reasons I have loved the DC casting. I mean theres your typical pasty white guys but theres Gal and Mamoa who were clearly cast because their a bit more diverse I would say. I think that was smart. Not that I think marvel really missed anything by not doing the same, but I think for people complaining about Dc casting is ignorant because more diversity is smart. Same way in the comics as you say, the diversification is a smart strategy and I think its working well with how they cast aquaman and wonder woman rather than some blonde hair blue eye white guy like the exact comic version. I understand people want the exact comic version sometimes but diversity is good especially in a world filled with endless iterations of a character.

and you're right it is also kind of cool wonder woman can set this trend though. Almost sort of makes sense in a way for the genre that wonder woman be the first big female centered super hero hit

@deadlyClass - * This (WO)man. Lol. But absolutely. I don't expect Marvel to play catch-up, not at all but I do want this to be a lesson that people really do want to see more females in this day in age. It's not just about feminism but it's about representation. The MCU has a few really cool female characters already, besides Black Widow. Have a BW/Agent 13 team-up give Scarlet Witch her own story. I don't expect them to shoe-horn unknown female characters in but they really should have taken the lead years ago.

That being said is I'm not a big MCU fan but I'm excited for Black Panther because of the cast. Can't wait to see more.
