Marvel And DC Movie Concept Artist Shares Amazing WOLVERINE Concept Art From A Scrapped Project

Jerad S. Marantz has worked on everything from Avengers: Infinity War to Shazam!, but he's now shared some incredible concept art from a scrapped project which would have included the X-Men's Wolverine...

We've featured concept artist Jerad S. Marantz's work on CBM quite a lot in the past, especially as he's been involved with Marvel and DC projects like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Now, though, he's shared some unused Wolverine designs from an unspecified cancelled project.

We don't know whether this would have been related to the X-Men or a wide-spanning Marvel Universe project, but common sense tells us this version of Wolverine was going to appear in some sort of animated or video game project.

In other words, this artwork isn't for the MCU's version of the iconic mutant superhero!

Merantz has definitely nailed Wolverine's mask, though, and his unique new takes on the costume itself would definitely work on the big screen. We're still a long way off from seeing that, of course, and there's still no official word on when the X-Men are returning to theaters after Disney decided to release Fox's disastrous Dark Phoenix.

What do you guys think about Merantz's take on Wolverine?

Some « NEXT » would improve it a lot

I grew to really like the movie costume....especially the one from X2. But we really need to see the classic suit on the big screen (updated of course). Those concept drawings are cool. They need a little tweaking and the colors are too bright...but yeah...could really work.

At least it’s no “next” button. Nice concept art too.

Wolverine's mask is too stupid to translate to a movie. Same reason Hawkeye never got his mask in 5 movies.

@blackandyellow - His hair, yes. The mask...nah. Marvel Studios will come correct.

@blackandyellow - If fan-made can give us this. Marvel Studios can definitely put something comic book accurate together.

@blackandyellow - Hawkman on a Legends of Tomorrow pretty much had on Wolverines mask and that looked pretty good.

The brown and tan version of his X-Force suit that he’s currently rocking in the comics would translate to film quite nicely.
