Frontrunners For 'Bella Donna Boudreaux' In GAMBIT Revealed

According to Deadline, 20th Century Fox are now taking aim at finding a female lead for Gambit. Channing Tatum very nearly dropped out of the project recently, but after getting a pay increase from the studio, he soon signed on the dotted line! So, who will be starring alongside the Magic Mike and Jump Street star in the X-Men spinoff and who are they playing? Apparently the character is Bella Donna Boudreaux, a Jim Lee creation who was the daughter of the leader of the New Orleans Assassins' Guild, a group Gambit ends up clashing with as a member of the Thrives guild.

Those currently in the mix to play her are Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation), Lea Seydoux (Spectre), and Abbey Lee (Mad Max: Fury Road). That's an interesting mixture, and it'll be hard to complain about whoever they end up choosing. I'd personally prefer to see Ferguson pay Captain Marvel to be honest! What do you guys think? As always, let us know your thoughts below.

Seydoux and Ferguson are ace castings.

Some nice MISSION IMPOSSIBLE femme fatales. Sorta wished Seydoux was the main villain in GHOST PROTOCOL and I hope we see Ferguson in 2017's Mission: Impossible 6.

@DrDoom I'm a huge ScarJo fan, but Blunt as Widow was inspired casting.

@WakandasSoul I would love to see Paula Patton now since she doesn't have anything as of yet to film in Summer 2016, which is Cruise's ideal time to shoot the 6th installment.

Gotta bring everyone back for continuity's sake. Renner, Ving Rhames, Alec Baldwin, etc.

Maybe, I don't know, after Fant4stic, I've had enough of Fox for awhile, I think Apocalypse could still be good but I have no idea about Gambit

Fox realizes they have to make up for F4, so they are gonna release 3 stellar movies next year.

@KurtCrawler this will likely suck, but with a female fan base as loyal as Tatum's, it will probably have a decent/above average box office gross.

Now if Tatum or even Reeves didn't get you excited, the possible addition of Rebecca Ferguson should!

Can't believe it, but this is crawling up the list

Josh Tranks tweet

" A year ago I had a fantastic version of this. And it would receive great reviews. You'll probably never see it. That's reality though"

So Fox wanted a generic CBM and Trank wanted something else. They should've just gotten another director instead of castrating Trank and making this horrible movie. This is why execs should never get involved, they pull out the charts and graphs and say "this sells, let's do this"

So the female lead is the one that watches the card tricks?

It's so blatantly obvious Fox interfered with the film. Trank wanted something along the lines of a hard Amblin-esque sci-fi and Fox wanted an archetypal superhero flick, and they clashed, and the shit getting released is the result. Trank deserves blame, but come on. After Thor The Dark World and TASM 2, let's not act like these sort of things don't exist

i just wanna see a documentary about the new FF movie explaining what a heck went wrong and who was responsible for that movie. Was is Trank because his version of FF was gonna end up being not so fantastic and not so close to source material or the studio who gutted/cutted the movie like a fish.

@MrCBM agreed I can see the execs getting involved in TASM2, SM3, TDW and IM2. And you can tell from directors comments, not a single one of the guys who directed those movies came back. Alan hated it, and Jenkins was suppose to direct but, like we presume she had creative differences with the studio so this movie was in trouble before it began filming. TASM2, oh man, that might as well be directed by Arad. Same for SM3. IM2 reeked of Studio intervention, it was a set up movie without a doubt. Directors should make movies, not execs
