GAMBIT: Fox Reportedly Changes The Working Title For The Upcoming X-MEN Spin-Off To 'Forevermore'

Fox has now reportedly changed the name of its upcoming X-Men spin-off film Gambit from "Chess" to "Forevermore" due to the former becoming too well known over the last few years of pre-production...

With Fox's X-Men spinoff Gambit chugging ahead toward starting production, we've got a new report suggesting the film's working title has been changed.

According to Omega Underground, Fox has changed the working title of the highly anticipated film from "Chess" to "Forevermore." Specific reasons for the title change are unknown, but the report speculates that it's because "Chess" had become so public over the last few years. It had been used for the working title of the X-Men spinoff during the last two attempts at making the film.

This isn't the first time Fox has made a change to a film's working title. Deadpool 2 originally had the working title of "Love Machine," but that was changed to "Caribbean Blue" just prior to filming.

Fox has been making slow strides with its upcoming Gambit film, with the report also claiming the film's production is presently being location scouted in New Orleans with filming set to begin in early 2018. Gambit is slated to hit theaters February 14, 2019.

People at Fox with dyslexia.

- OK guys, I have the perfect title. Chess.
- Why the [frick] would we call it Chess?
- Because it's what Gambit uses as a weapon, obviously.
- You mean Cards?
- Yes. Chess.

Should've just given Gambit his own show. Why his own solo movie?

I doubt this film would work but we shall see. Count me the [frick] out if this is indeed a romance centric film, that's one genre i could never digest.

I love the idea of a Gambit solo movie. But starring Channing Tatum? Nah I’m not watching that.

Usually I give the benefit of the doubt if I don’t like a casting choice, and at least give em a chance to prove me wrong. But every man has his limits.

Besides, seems like a commercial choice to cast him rather than a creative one. They’re just banking on his star power, especially to put lady bums in seats.

I'm not against this movie... I just don't particularly care that much about it. So it has an uphill battle with me at this point. Make me care Fox... make me care

Makes sense. There's already another movie named Gambit and a rock band and a rapper too. So trademarking might have been a headache. You can also bet they won't call the Madrox film "X-Factor".
