Léa Seydoux Offers Update On Her Potential GAMBIT Casting

Has Spectre leading lady Léa Seydoux accepted 20th Century Fox's offer to portray Belladonna Boudreaux opposite Channing Tatum in the Gambit big-screen adaptation?

Back in August, when Rupert Wyatt was attached to direct Gambit, Spectre star Léa Seydoux was offered the female lead role of Belladonna Boudreaux opposite Channing Tatum's Remy LeBeau. Earlier yesterday, just hours before news broke that Doug Liman will now take over the director's chair, the French actress was asked for an update on her casting in the Fox Marvel adaptation.

"Listen, no, I haven't signed for Gambit," Léa Seydoux revealed to French website AlloCiné. Obviously, Gambit was in a troubling state when this interview was conducted given Rupert Wyatt had abandoned the project in September, so the actress implied that is the reason she's yet to sign on officially. "I just can't make any official announcement, I don't have information," she added.

Nonetheless, with Edge of Tomorrow director Doug Liman in final negotiations to helm Gambit, development on Channing Tatum's passion project can now move forward with just enough time to meet its October 7, 2016, release date. And hopefully someone asks Léa Seydoux for another update while she's currently out and about promoting Spectre. Anyhow, we'd like to thank Maria for the transcription of the abovementioned interview, which you can watch in French below.

Now's a good time to mention Doug Liman is the front runner for directing Gambit.

I don't care about Gambit but Lea Seydoux is great. She is the best Bond girl in years. Just stunning.

She should get the CAPTAIN MARVEL role. Fox needs to not make a Gambit movie and concentrate on a NEW MUTANTS movie and X-FORCE movie. And the UN should put 100 000 troops in Syria. There.... i solved the world's problems for the day.

She was great in Spectre, but I think Eva Green as Vesper was a better Bond girl.

I was ready to ignore Gambit, but now I'm curious, I want to see how this plays out

You think even Channing will finally be like...
"Are you guys sure you want me to do this movie? I mean I'd make a much better (Fill in the blank with any character other than Gambit) for this franchise."
I thought he'd make a better young Cable.

I'm much more interested in this Gambit movie than in X-Men: Apocalypse or Deadpool.
