We've featured concept artist Jerad S. Marantz's work on CBM quite a lot in the past, especially as he's been involved with Marvel and DC projects like
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,
Avengers: Endgame, and
Spider-Man: Far From Home. Now, though, he's shared some unused Wolverine designs from an unspecified cancelled project.
We don't know whether this would have been related to the X-Men or a wide-spanning Marvel Universe project, but common sense tells us this version of Wolverine was going to appear in some sort of animated or video game project.
In other words, this artwork isn't for the MCU's version of the iconic mutant superhero!
Merantz has definitely nailed Wolverine's mask, though, and his unique new takes on the costume itself would definitely work on the big screen. We're still a long way off from seeing that, of course, and there's still no official word on when the X-Men are returning to theaters after Disney decided to release Fox's disastrous
Dark Phoenix.
What do you guys think about Merantz's take on Wolverine?
