9. Alex Summers, Corsair?
Last we saw Alex Summers in X-Men, he disappeared in the blast of Xavier's mansion. No body was found, although there is a possibility that he was never dead. Bryan Singer has said that he'd like to take the X-Men franchise into space in future installments. What if Alex Summers wasn't engulfed by the flames, but instead zapped into the cosmos becoming his father's title of Corsair? It could very well not happen, but it would be a great way to introduce Corsair in a future X-Men movie along with an emotional moment for Cyclops!
8. A Brotherhood of Mutants
Ten years is a long time to wait, and a long time to get another team together. Following the cataclysmic events of Apocalypse, it could very well be time for Magneto to assemble a group of Mutants leading the way for a new tomorrow. Although perhaps with Apocalypse's ending, it led to a true change of heart and is looking to truly make a difference in the mutant community...
7. Genosha
With Magneto on his way into an uncertain future, perhaps it's time he sets up Genosha? After the world ending events of Apocalypse, rebuilding is necessary. It would be interesting if Magneto creates Genosha, a safe haven for mutants in the new world.
After the world's most powerful mutant caused a cataclysmic event, it wouldn't be surprising to see mutants being persecuted and needing a safe place. Leading to humanity needing to potentially bring back something to keep the mutants in check.
6. The Continuation Of The Sentinels Program
With the near destruction of the world by a mutant, It is no doubt that the human race is going to look to keep the mutants in check. Especially with the ending of Apocalypse showing some beefed up Sentinels, it does point to the robotic behemoths being in production yet again. One unanswered question is if Trask will return to oversee the production? Will Master Mold be created? Only time will tell.
5. Ages Of Apocalypse
In Apocalypse, it was established that he can change bodies and has throughout thousands of lifetimes. With his death at the fate of the Phoenix force, it could be possible that his form was transferred into some sort of cosmic vessel. In the comics, Apocalypse is known to constantly return from the dead, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him return in future installments, possibly the giant X-Teamup movie that Kinberg suggested was happening.
4. New Beginning for Xavier And Magneto
The ending conversation between Xavier and Magneto was mirroring their first scene in the original 2000 X-Men. It showed that the future of their relationship could go anywhere. This could lead into many possibilities, Xavier and Magneto stuck in the Savage Land in X-Men Sinister? It's possible. It's very exciting to wonder what the future has in store for the two, even with it being confirmed Xavier being in New Mutants.
3. The New X-Men
One of the most exciting aspects of Apocalypse was the new team of X-men. Magneto and Xavier had their focus in the First Class trilogy, and with Apocalypse begins the Cyclops-Nightcrawler-Jean Grey trilogy. It's great to see characters like Scott Summers again given the true attention they deserve. Although this Cyclops isn't 1:1 of his comic counterpart, it seems as if he might be more interesting than the typical "Whiner Cyclops"
With the X-men being assembled for the first time, non-fractured since X2, it truly is something to be excited for.
2. A Sinister Future
Mr. Sinister is a somewhat hard villain to adapt. He's not necessarily a great character, but he has the potential to be if enough is changed about him. After Apocalypse, the X-Men need a more personal threat to mutants that isn't world ending.
It should be interesting to see where they go with Sinister, especially with the 90's setting and the aftermath of Apocalypse. It should caution itself however, with it being in risk of becoming "just another superhero movie."
1. The Opportunity Of A New World
X-Men Apocalypse changed the game rules of the universe the mutants inhabit. It's opened up a world of possibility and the creative direction can go anywhere. Signified by Magneto And Xavier's speech at the beginning of the movie being the same as the original X-men, it showed that the world in the future is going to be much different.
People complain that the X-men movies not mirroring the Deadpool movie, but what they don't understand is that Apocalypse is the beginning of the world you see in Deadpool. As much as people dislike the "realistic Singer universe," but I'm interested in seeing the combination of Singer's heart and emotion combined with the original comics (Not the animated series please!)
Regardless what your opinion is of the Fox universe, you have to admit you are at least a bit excited for the future, right? Sound off in the comments below on your take.
