Simon Kinberg Is Reportedly In Talks To Write And Direct The Next X-MEN Movie
X-Men writer/producer is said to be in line to direct the next installment of the saga, which he has already penned the script for. Though this all apparently subject to change, click for what we have...
We've been hearing a lot about the next X-Men movie (currently dubbed "X-Men: Supernova") recently, but even though the project is scheduled to head into production in June, we still haven't had any kind of official announcement. Because of this, Collider's Steve Weintraub did some digging, and he may have uncovered some very interesting information.
According to his sources, Simon Kinberg - who has worked as a writer and producer on many of the previous X-flicks - is being lined up to make his directorial debut on this next film in the franchise, which is indeed expected to readapt elements of the Dark Pheonix Saga. So far, the only confirmed cast member is Sophie Turner, but Kinberg was recently photographed having dinner with James McAvoy, who is also sure to reprise the role of Charles Xavier.
Weintraub cautions that plans are very much subject to change and Fox might decide to go in a different direction, but as of right now, Kinberg is their man.
What do you guys make of this? Is it wise for Kinberg to tackle something this big for his first feature? Sound off below.
