Val-Pak partnered with 20th Century Fox for the release of two motion pictures, "Down With Love," a romantic comedy, and "X2," the sequel to "X-Men," the Marvel Comics-based hit of 2000.
Beginning today, more than 50 million homes will receive blue Valpak coupon packs emblazoned with a "Down With Love" movie and sweepstakes announcement, and an "X2" logo and release date. The promotion will run through April 11, and will also be featured on ValPak.com.
"X2" movie tickets are also randomly inserted into all mailings, except in Florida. The "Down With Love" sweepstakes offers consumers a chance to enter to win a trip to New York City and the "Down With Love" book from Harper Entertainment. Additional 20th Century Fox Partners for "Down With Love" include: Bloomingdale's, 1-800-Flowers.com, Harper Collins Publishers and Stila Cosmetics
"Down With Love" opens in theaters May 16 and "X2" May 2.
This marks the first time Valpak, part of Cox Target Media, Largo, FL, has been used to promote two movies, kicking off the summer blockbuster season. This promotion is also the third time 20th Century Fox has chosen Valpak blue as a promotional partner for the silver screen. Previously, 20th Century Fox teamed up with Valpak for the release of "Ice Age" in 2002 and "Dr. Dolittle 2" in 2001.
