Hugh Jackman's THE WOLVERINE Will Film In Japan!
MTV News has just found out from Fox CEO Tom Rothman that filming of The Wolverine will also take place in Japan, and that they haven't yet decided if it will be shot in 3D.
While interviewing 20th Century Fox CEO Tom Rothman at Las Vegas' CinemaCon MTV News brought up the hot topic of where the filming for Hugh Jackman's next Wolverine movie would take place. Just last week it was announced that James Mangold's The Wolverine would shoot in Australia, but Rothman informs MTV News that stage work will take place there, but location shoots would in be in Japan.
"I can just tell you on behalf of him, his goal is to make the ultimate, bad ass, berserker rage Wolverine," Tom Rothman says about star Hugh Jackman.
Plot - Logan beginning a forbidden romance with a Japanese woman whose hand in marriage is, unfortunately, promised to another man. Since Logan won’t take “no” for an answer, it puts him into battle with her father and her samurai-sword-wielding brothers and Silver Samurai.
The Wolverine will be directed by James Mangold (Knight and Day), the script has been written by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects). Hugh Jackman will of course be back in the lead role of Logan/Wolverine, and the film will claw into theaters July 26, 2013.
