Access Hollywood got a chance to interview Hugh Jackman and how he prepared for his role as Wolverine.

When asked by Access Hollywood how he prepared for his role Hugh said,"I was probably training for a year before we started, that was the key."

The article then went on to say that he trained an hour-and-a-half everyday, and revamped his diet.

"I work out imagining I'm Wolverine," he said. "Wolverine to me is the guy that when everybody else quits, that's where he begins. I think that's why people love him."

"I think we've wiped out entire gene pools of chickens," he said. "I know to any vegetarians out there, I really apologize. It's just so much tofu you can eat."

Hugh then joked around saying, "At first [my wife] was like, 'Hugh, this is ridiculous, look at you,'" he said.

"'I don't know who you are -- now get into bed,'" he continued, laughing.

Many people have commented on how ripped Hugh has looked for this movie. Apparently for all those wanting to look like Wolverine you will probably be out of luck. He obviously hired very expensive personal trainers and dieticians that helped him get jacked. For the rest of us I guess we will just have to go it on our own. X-Men Origins: Wolverine hits theatres this Friday May,1st as most of you already know!

"shitty movie, great biceps!" It's called working out people! Look it up instead of hyping it up like if he parted the Red [frick]in Sea! have him train for years the way Conan did at the beginning of Conan the Barbarian and then maybe I'll give the man some props. Until then he can go shove a twinkie.

your talking about the conan who got busted for steroid use, and is a confessed steriod user? Yea, that's really something to be proud of... working out is harder then using drugs R-tard

this is just more evidence of hugh's commitment to the role. i work out 6 times a week for an hour and a half and i don't look nearly that good. different goals though, im getting in football shape. they should do an article listing his workout routine though

Yea you gotta give it to him he's in his 40's he's like 6'2 205lbs and ripped. Unlike Arnold I dont think this guy is on drugs...I know A little something about wgt training myself. Im an ex college football player and fighter. Im 6'2 265lbs Im in decent shape still need to lose about 20 or so more pounds and its tough Im in my 40's also. My hats off to Hugh he looks great and no Im not GAY just giving the man his props.

I meant the character as opposed to the actor...otherwise I would've said Arnie The Gov'na you douchebag! Or maybe you didnt continue to read my post before you figured you'd be all PC and teach us all a lesson on how steroids are bad. It was supposed to be a sarcastic observation about them making a big deal on him being in shape for a movie. My bad if it was way too much of an undertaking for your superior mind to comprehend. But thanks for the PSA, I'm glad I can count on posts on this site to learn about the good values of life. Now I know, and knowing is half the battle! GI Douche!

I know many fans are dissapointed with creative liberties taken in the movie. But, Hugh really cares about the character and has taken steps to recreate this character to the best of his ability which is all us, as fans, ask for. I'm 6ft 205 training as an MMA fighter now for a year-and-a-half and still do not have the kind of veins he has. I wish they would of went more in-depth on his actual regiment.

BIG props to Hugh for investing a lot of time and effort to perfecting Wolverine's physique and although he's done a HUGE effort and successfully so, i think the winner/s of the change-your-body-to-suit-the-film title is none other than..... (drumroll)

G. Butler and the rest of the cast of 300! I dont care if this sounds gay but damn those abs were tight! LOL

lol at kabal316 on 2 accounts:

1. comparing an actor to a fictional character
2. whining like a bitch

manofbass....you are indeed a douchebag! If you can manage to stop drooling for a second your brain would realize that you're the only one who brought up the "actor". Unless you were referring to the character of Conan (the only one I referred to in my original post) being busted for steroids in which case I apologize because I'm either talking to an 8 yr. old or an idiot who didn't understand what I wrote. I'll quit my bitchin' now before my 'roid rage kicks in. Which by the way I promise to quit steroids thanks to your amazing intervention. Couldn't have done it w/out your advice.
...and no lol in regards to my GI Joe reference? That's truly offending!

LOL, I'm glad I'm not the only one that caught that!

It also says "Ghostbusters 3: News to make you feel good"

rofl, Star wars the musical.

Kabal316, you need to stop talking. I didn't even say how steroids are bad (which they are, and good for you for not doing them BTW...as I did catch on to your witty sarcasim) I just mentioned how effortless using steriods is in comparison to actually working for the role.
Also, I wasn't sure whether to "lol" at your GI comment, because you used so many other acronyms, I wasn't sure wether it was one that i'd ever heard of. So, I will grant that comment with a "lol" you should be proud, pat yourself on the back.

Actually, ManofBass (formerly bryonfanger), steroids were completely legal at the time, and he has never been busted for illicit use. Opinions are fine; libel is not.

true true Johnny, my brain conjoined Arny and Sylvestor... sorry.
BUT, my point remains valid, Hugh worked harder by not useing steroids.
plus, I don't think Hugh could sing as awsomely as he does if the roids would have shrunk his 2 bits. (youtube it, its awsome)

i dont condone the use of steriods at all, and i think jackman is in great shape and my hats off to him, ive been a huge fitness nut my whole life and recently by using a mix of his wolverine diet and workout and brad pitts fight club diet and workout and some supplaments ive got 6 lbs in 3 weeks, but your diet is just as if not more important that your workout(tons of protein, its retarded), neways what everyone needs to understand about arnold is that yes he took steroids but at the time he was doing them they werent a big deal. He was going to a doctor and was getting them rx to him. He used them in a cycle(used them, let his system purge them). Like i said hard work in the gym is the only way to go but theres a difference between that guy getting them rxed from his doctor and these base ball players doin the them in the corner of the locker room when no one is looking

You dont need a personal trainer or a dietician to look like Hugh. You need to not spend as much time on this website, and spend some time on tnation. Goodluck kids, there's the secret
