Israeli Wolverine Poster?

Israeli Wolverine Poster?

Scooper Apex1125 sent us in a Wolverine poster from an Israeli movie site that we haven't seen before. Is it for real, or a fan fake?

By ComicBookMovie - Jan 05, 2009 09:01 AM EST
Source: seret.co.il

Since the Wolvie posters aren't out yet, this is probably just a fan faked filler for the movie site. Plus there are the pesky facts that the release date on the poster appears to be 2008 instead of 2009, and the title isn't the full "X-Men Origins" name.

Whether it's fan-made fun or the real deal, its always fun to see what shows up for a flick.

Can anybody translate this for us?

Well it's obviously a fake since you see the silhouette of a wolf instead of an actual wolverine. It's idiotic. Even FOX isn't that retarded. They can't be... can they?

Fan Fake for sure. Surprise someone has time to do this, since Israeli is pounding Hamas Military Sites right now!

why people always intertwine a wolf and a wolverine?
Shaman
Shaman - 1/5/2009, 10:37 AM
Probably because it's the most favored "totem" animal guide. Also because of the expression "lone wolf". Either way, none apply to Logan. He is a raging wolverine in battle. He chose that code name for that reason. His "animal side" has nothing to do with a wolf. And the whole Watchmen deal has to do with money. I'm not glad that they're doing what they're doing but if i were Fox, i'd do the same thing. So it has nothing to do with the idiocy behind putting a wolf's silhouette next to logan's face. Obviously a fan of wolverine which lacks the logic to understand the character has decided to make this fake poster.

I see, not to be political, but Apex be safe. I have long distance relatives on both sides over there!

Ack. Too many signs of the apocalypse going on. Grif, AWESOME new avatar. Hysterical. The posters not terribly done, it almost looks professional. Except for the obvious flaws.

Apex, i'm sorry your country is always involved in some kind of military offensive/defensive. I pray for all the people who are being caught up in the political drama that is the Middle East. It's a damn shame.

I think it is any easy mistake since they do put him with wolves a lot. Even the cover of one of the origins has him with one.

Wolverines are definitely different from wolves... BUT I have seen a few pictures of Wolverine with wolves.

Also, in X2 Logan encounters some snow wolves when he is in Canada.

Not defending the picture, just showing that they are not the first to compare him an actual wolf.

I like how the wolf silhouette in the fan-made picture kind of makes it look like the yellow suit Wolverine wears in the comics.

thankes for your support guys

to shaman-i know it doesnt sound stupid at first look but look what fox did:

watchmen was officially in production-fox didnt said squat.
watchmen was cest-again fox kept there mouth shut.
watchmen was in post prudoction and marketing begun-fox just stood up from behind and said "hey...wasent this our movie?".

and BANG all of sudden fox was pissed like this film was kept under wraps for the past 20 years or so
dont tell me it wasent juvenile.

I'd be interested to see if Wolverine has EVER been set in ANY scene with an actual "wolverine". I'm a 32 yr old AVID comic reader, and as far as I know, Wolverine has only been portrayed with wolves. I could be wrong, but the reason he was dubbed a "wolverine" is because his clawed are like that of a actual wolverine. If anyone can find a real/credible image of Wolverine with a wolverine, please post it...id be interested in seeing it.

Bald's got a point.. i don't think I've ever seen Wolverine with an actual wolverine... never thought about that.

By the way, I'm starting to buy into the conspiracy theory with the Watchmen film. Maybe WB KNEW that this would go to court and give them a lot of free publicity and make people who aren't knowledgable about the Watchmen want to go see it just because of the controversy. if this gets resolved in the next week or two, we'll know the deal.

Actually, i've never seen him with a wolverine. And Logan's claws look nothing like a wolverines. No, he used that nickname because a wolverine is fearless and is the only mamal that would willingly confront a grizzly head on.
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 1/5/2009, 1:20 PM
As far as i know, he got the name because hes a ferocious little scrapper..like a wolverine! but even if it was a wolf in the poster i would understand why because he spent time living with a wolfpack in origins and still likes to run with them. its just a representation of his animalistic nature

As bad as it may be, it's him with a Wolverine. It's fan art. But it's nigh impossible to find him with an actual wolverine in the comics. So hate on me all ya want. You asked for it, and I provided. Beggars can't be choosers and all that jazz.

CMB already posted an actual wolverine pic on the fifth post...

a wolverine lost in a pack of wolves like a swan (ugly duckling) with a family of ducks...

do you still remember the uncanny x-men cartoon during 90s? there was this episode where logan became a human sized wolverine (not wolf) think he was in savage island..(cant remember though but i saw he became a wolverine)

i really do like it due to the portrayal of the poster is that they want it to resemble the yellow wolveriene costume from the comics!

I remember seeing this a few months before any official picture was released. I mean the actual movie was barely beginning its filming when this showed up.

It's a fan fake. It looks good, but I was told that it really is, are images from "l'empire des loups" and 1994's "Wolf" with Jack Nicholson and Michelle Pfeiffer, made to look legit.

I DO realize the pic is fan-fake, so I'm not defending it as real, but Wolverine MAINLY got his name because of the retractable claws, which wolverines have. They can extract up to 3 inches. They have many other similarities, but the main inspiration for his name is the claws, because they are the most prominent feature to BOTH wolverines. BTW...I should probably clarify that then I refer to how he got his name...I DON'T mean "in comic", I mean given to him by co-creator Len Wein.

hey thanx for the info baldbix, i never new that
shibazz
shibazz - 1/6/2009, 11:51 AM
I have been thinking of that ever since that grey wolf showed Logan the way to the underground facility in the X Men movie. Never a wolverine , always a wolf. I guess wolverines don't translate well on page or film. Also i don't think anyone would want to handle one. They are some vicious little bastards that regularly defeat Bears! Love that!!! Maybe if Glen Danzig in his prime got the gig to play wolverine it would make more sense to use an actual wolverine as the totem animal. BAldBix thanks for the info on the animal/wolverine! thats freakin cool!!!! OH and almost every animal and form of life has been tapped as inspiration for a heroe/villan/player in comics. Anyone know one if The Platypus has been represented yet?

i dont know if this was shibazz's plan, but now that you bring it up,i want to see a real wolverine in the movie.it may be a little dangerous but hey...that's Hollywood.

I love the Red Dawn reference, grif... one of my favorite movies of all time! WOLVERINES!!!

shibazz, i remember "the Platypus" from some show, can't remember what... it was either one of those cheesy afterschool kids shows... was it "Doug"? not sure...

random thought: where's the talk of a live action Danger Mouse? THAT guy rocked!
