Storm Cut From X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Storm Cut From X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Super producer Lauren Shuler Donner reveals that a cameo by the mutant weather witch Storm was cut from the theatrical release of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but it will appear in the DVD.

You can hear the short audio interview HERE.

Fans got a quick glimpse of storm as a young child (NOT Halle Berry) in the Wolverine movie trailer, and one assumes that is the scene Donner is talking about.

In any case, since it ain't hottie Halle Berry, I doubt most people will care to see some kid with white hair.

See Logan-X??? Happy now? Need further explanation as to what a cameo is? It's "expendable" meaning has no purpose in a movie so the other "cameos" shouldn't be a problem either.

Gambit is a "supporting" character meaning that he isn't the star. So NO, the movie is not about Gambit. It's not about Deadpool either for that matter but where's the crime in being as excited to see Gambit and Deadpool as much as we are in seeing Wolverine??? We already know we'll see a shit load of Wolverine since it's his movie, hense why we might comment more about Gambit or Deadpool. Still doesn't change a damn thing about the movie. It's wolverine's movie!!! Now stop sucking your thumb, it's pathetic.

thank god it is not hallie berry she sucked as stormed and ruined the franchise in my opinion, no if this storm child? sound african i will consider her storm because as we know there was no hint of a kenyan accent in hallie berry's absmal preformance as the weather witch

MarkCassidy - 2/11/2009, 11:05 AM
Actually she did try to give Storm a slight accent in X men 1!...but because she had like 3 lines in that movie alot of people dont remember. I actually didnt think she was too bad in X2..but then she was beyond awful in the third one. The funny thing is the girl can act when she wants to, she totally deserved that oscar for monsters ball imo..and theres no denying she is ridiculously hot

Cameos are always cool, little fun bits of, "hey! that was!" and stuff...but yes, cameos are expendable, so no biggy, as I do plan on buying this DVD, I'll see it then
loganoneil
loganoneil - 2/11/2009, 11:43 AM
Ror - face it, Berry was about as successful with her accent attempt as Kevin Coster was with with his in 'Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves' (or was it 'Men in Tights'? I can never tell those two apart...)
Shaman
Shaman - 2/11/2009, 11:46 AM
That's a very good point Roar, she does derserve the oscar for Monster's ball. And she is smoking HOT!!! I don't have much against Halle herself, but bottom line is EVERY single actor should stick to what they do best. She's a Drama Queen and she doesn't belong anywhere near comic book movies.

The thing i don't like about her is that she always brings "overhype" with her, everywhere she goes which is highly destructive to a franchise. "Oooh, i'm a woman and i'm black and i demand a bigger role!"... Then she gets one which was Storm, screwes the whole franchise up, then she gets an even bigger one which was Catwoman and look how that turned out. And remember the huge deal about her tits in Swordfish??? Man was that ever disapointing. The only good part in that movie was Hugh telling her that she was [frick]ing up his "Chi". And now she said not too long ago how she's greatly sexually experienced thanks to all the men that entered her life... The hell are you telling us that for??? What, you want the role for "Basic Instinct 3" now??? Go ahead, take it, who the hell cares anyway.

Personally, I thought Swordfish was a good movie. I totally dug it. Especially Hugh having to crack the encryption bit while having the best BLOWJOB EVER! That was hysterical.

Yes, Halle Berry's tits were one of the biggest disappointments EVER. I could have gone with my fantasy version for the rest of my life, but now, I can't. Such a let down THAT was. ALL the roles in Monster's Ball were freakin' amazing. EVERYBODY did a fantastic job in that movie, it was spectacular.

As for this article. Darn, no Storm in Wolverine. Not a problem for me, I actually prefer NOT to see Storm in this movie. We all know Catwoman was an absolute abomination and should be stricken from the hall of records immediately. Get rid of it. Never mention it again. I was never a big Catwoman fan, but
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN
that was total destruction on everyone's part who had a hand in making that "film".

I didn't believe Hally did that bad, but I wasn't felling her presence as Storm to much. I getting no feeling. Shaman mentioned Angela Bassett, but I would preferred to see Persia White.

I was a huge catwoman fan, but i new as soon as i saw what they were doing with that movie that it wasnt even Catwoman, they just made up there own character and named her after the kick ass one from the comics. Frank Millers take on her as a prostitute/dominatrix who gets beaten nearly to death by her pimp is the best version..and should be the one used in the 3rd Bat movie imo

Also, i didnt like Swordfish, but i liked Swordtits! ..man that was a great rack, i cant believe you were dissapointed!
Shaman
Shaman - 2/11/2009, 1:32 PM
Angela Bassett...hound???

I agree roar, Miller's version's the best!

As for her rack, the hype is what ruined it!!! If it would have been a surprise, i would've probably enjoyed them but months before the release, they went on and on about her tits as if it was the finest pair ever shown on screen... Dude, they were nothing more than just decent. When you expect "filet mignon", jerky simply doesn't due even though it's still enjoyable!

The song from catwoman was pretty good, it wasn,t all a bust but then again I can,t remember the name of it
FrankGarret
FrankGarret - 2/11/2009, 1:47 PM
The "getting almost beaten to death by her pimp" aspect wasn't Millers, it was Mindy Newall's. Miller's apprach was just to make her a hooker.

As for Storm getting cut, I'm alright with it.

Oh, and Brubaker's Catwoman is the best.

MarkCassidy - 2/11/2009, 2:00 PM
Your right Frank, my bad..it was the limited series that shes beat up in..well those 2 stories combined would go well in Nolans world.

I love Catwoman in Jeph Loeb's comics. Its so cool to see Bruce Wayne dating Selina Kyle and Catwoman flirting with Batman, while both are completely ignorant of the other's actual identity. I also liked in Miller's how it was Batman that inspired Selina to become Catwoman in the first place.
Shaman
Shaman - 2/11/2009, 2:34 PM
Yes all these versions could make for a great adaptation. I even enjoyed Tim Burton's take on her. Hopefully we won't have another screw-up is all.

Actually logan-x, i would go see it without Gambit or Deadpool. Hell i'd go see it even if none of the weapon members were in it. Cause i think wolverine kicks ass regardless of what he's wearing or who crosses his path. Gambit and Deadpool are just "bonuses" to me. I think Hugh Jackman always gives us stellar performances regardless of the role he plays and i'd gladly see anything he does. He is by far the best actor to play Logan's role even though he's 6 foot tall. The fact is that you'll never ever get movies for every separate comic book story you've liked weither it'd be gambit's origins or Wolverine's or whoever you want. There are just too many and the best that hollywood can do is combine the coolest stuff possible into a few movies to entertain us. And that's exactly what we're getting with x-men origins: WOLVERINE! Now tell me something, how can you possibly admit that "the action looks good i think the fight with saber tooth is ganna be kick ass, even if he looks stupid, and when u see him as a little kid useing his claws thats ganna be cool to." and still think that it's gonna suck? Because the "bad things" you mention are only way minor and most of the movie will have to do with the very thing that you think is gonna kick ass! The movie itself will rock and i know that you'll enjoy it probably even more than you did the other x-men movies weither you wanna admit it or not.

This movie is going to ROOOOOCK! We all know it's not part of ANY continuity, they raped and pillaged that almost 10 years ago with the firts movie. So, wah. Get over it, enjoy it (or not) come back and prasie or bitch. The End.

Yet another 'cameo' aka a chance to cram another mutant into the movie so fan boys will get hard and race home to their interweb computer machines and blog about how great or how suck it was. Who cares. Add the deleted scene to the DVD, whatever. We're all gonna see the movie anyway. With or without storm, with or without Deadpool's mask, blah blah.

So logan x, this movie cant be about Logan because its not called "Wolverine"..its called "xmen origins:Wolverine" is basically what your saying?..i think you might realise how silly that sounds without me pointing it out for you.

Yes, Boo Berry. Monster's Ball must have been closer to home for her seeing as though she hasn't received any bows or nods since then. Never thought of storm as much of a pivotal character but I like mohawk storm from the 80's and john byrne model-storm in thigh highs the most.

This is purely a guess. But judging by some of the pictures and the trailer, it looks like Stryker has a prison of abducted full of mutant kiddies, to be used as test subject in futue Weapon X experiments. Storm, Emma Frost and Cyclops are probably some of them.

Well the problem is not that Storm was taken out of the movie but how the X-MEN series was handle in the first place.

'wanna know what happens to a toad that gets struck by lightning? The same thing that happens to everything else'

That line had me laughing so hard the first time, like they couldnt come up with anything better than that? Storm is ALWAYS coming up with over the top lines that show her incredible strength and confidence and this is what were given. Still makes me laugh

I always thought it should have been Angela Bassett as Storm in the Xmen movies. And if they wanted to go younger, it should have been Gabrielle Union. Halle Berry as Storm was a joke from the beginning. Storm was supposed to be a strong-willed woman where Halle's take was of a prissy chick. I think the reason they put her in the movie was to attract non-fanboys. She was the biggest name at the time (Hugh Jackman wasn't well-known) and Patrick Stewart was only known for playing Captain Picard.

All these big name studios (Sony, Fox) need to give up their rights and hand everything over to Marvel studios so these movies can be done right. I'm crossing my fingers for the Wolverine movie.

Ever sense i watched next generation as a kid i hoped Patrick Stewart would play xavier. Interestingly, at the same time i watched old clint eastwood movies with my dad, which made me think HE would be a great wolverine if only he were younger.

Take a look at Hugh Jackman and compare him to young clint eastwood, very close.

I also was for sure that arnold would play colossus. Too late, maybe dolph lundgrin or anthony sabato jr. tee!
