X-Men fans have been anxiously awaiting news on Marvel Studios' plans for the iconic mutant superheroes ever since Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox back in 2019. Despite a few rumors here and there, there's been no official word on an MCU reboot, but we may finally have an update.
Thor: Love and Thunder writer Jennifer Kaytin Robinson shared an Instagram post to mark her birthday, on which Michael Waldron (Loki, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) commented, "good luck with your life." Robinson's response? "Good luck with writing X-Men."
This seems like an odd, not to mention reckless, thing to blurt out on social media, so there's always a chance Robinson is joking. Even if she isn't, she could be referring to the upcoming X-Men '97 animated series revival for Disney+ and not the elusive live-action movie/series that's (presumably) in the early stages of development.
Chances are either Robinson or Waldron will address this once they realize how quickly the story has circulated, but if the comment is simply deleted, it's probably safe to assume there's some truth to it!
We'll update once we learn more, but for now, let us know what you think in the comments.
UPDATE: It looks like Robinson was most likely referencing an April Fool's joke.
