DEADPOOL Co-Creator Rob Liefeld Suggests That Stryfe Could Be The Villain For X-FORCE

Despite Disney's acquisition of Fox's assets being made official, it looks like the studio still intends to forge ahead with its current slate of X-Men movies, and that includes Drew Goddard's X-Force...

Until we hear differently, we're going to assume that Disney intends to allow 20th Century Fox to continue developing its current slate of X-Men and X-Universe features - X-Force Included. Whether any of them will actually see the light of day or not is another story, but as of right now, it seems to be business as usual at the studio.

One man who seems confident that Drew Goddard's X-Force movie is still very much a go is Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld, who strongly implied that Stryfe will be the villain of the piece during an interview with Nerdist.

“Well, do you really hire Josh Brolin if you don’t want him to play both roles? We are perfectly assembled for an X-Force movie. And how do you not scratch that Stryfe itch, right?”

For those that may not be aware of the character, Stryfe was first introduced as the leader of the mutant terrorist group The Mutant Liberation Front before being unmasked as Cable’s genetic clone. The powerful villain was one of the first foes the original team faced in the comics, so it would make sense if he was to be utilized as the film's main antagonist.

Of course, Liefeld may simply be making an assumption here so it's best not to put too much stock in his comments for the time being.

How would you guys feel of Stryfe was the villain of X-Force? Drop us a comment down below.

Not his call to make. But as always, here he is.

I like the idea of making this Deadpool 3: X-Force. If it's even possible with the Fox merger moving forward now. Hasn't started production yet. But seriously what else could you do with a third Deadpool solo movie. I think this is the way to go.

That character summed up a lot of things wrong at the time he was created.

For some reason I've always thought in my head that if an X-force movie ever got made Stryfe would be the villain.

Pretty sure I got that idea from reading Messiah War and Messiah Complex (which they could do since Deadpool 2 mentioned Hope Summers)

Soooo.....

Wouldn't Stryfe be kinda difficult to pull off without the whole piece of Scott and Jean being Cable's parents and Stryfe being a clone of Cable and thinking that Jean and Scott are his parents too, and hating the shit out of all 3 of them?

I suppose they could just make him a clone of Cable from the future. But that would be a horrible disservice to the character.

@CorndogBurglar - If you're going to go into any real kind of depth with the character then you have to have that Scott and Jean part.

Between these 2, which Deadpool omnibus should I get first? The Daniel Way vol. 1 or Gerry Duggan?

@ATrueHero1987 -

Daniel Way Deadpool sucks.

Start with Gerry Duggan and stay.

Apocalypse is the ideal, although X-Men Apocalypse eliminated that possibility.

Apocalypse created just like Juggernaut in Deadpool 2.

Might be too early for Stryfe, should set some groundwork for him first but I am fine if they choose for him to be the main villain.

Let's be realistic here. Fox is planning- according to Wikipedia- on releasing 8 more films, including Dark Phoenix and New Mutants (10 including potential sequels for NM), before the deal closes. Eight to ten films filmed and released in 336 days. Show of hands: does anyone here think this is possible?c
