X-Men: Apocalypse hasn't been getting the positive critical response many expected it would, but pretty much every review mentions that the Quicksilver scenes are the standout moments in the film.

These international TV spots give us a brief glimpse of the speedster in rescue mode, as well as a cool shot of Angel in flight with a "bamfing" Nightcrawler in pursuit, and what appears to be Psylocke free-falling after a plane.

Have the mixed reviews put you off seeing Bryan Singer's latest, or will you be there opening day?

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 18.

@MattBellissimo - I honestly can't see them making another XMen film after this (aside from Wolverine). With Marvel flooding the genre, there's no room for this many studios doing CBMs. They'll have to work something out with Feigi. This may very well be the very first CBM I don't see in the movies.

@incredibleTalk - Lol. There are still plenty of X-villains. Shadow King, Sinister, the Brood, Onslaught, Stryfe, the list goes on. Endless possibilities!!

@Maculis - I do. They've already said the next one will be set in the 90's. And just because Marvel Studios has a big slate doesn't mean there's no room. It just means that the pressure is on to continue to make good films. Nothing wrong with friendly competition. Fox isn't giving back an almost $4 billion, fairly well-reviewed franchise. They don't have to do anything. They're laughing after the success of Deadpool. Sure if Apocalypse does poorly they may have to rethink things, but they're far from being "done".

@MattBellissimo - oh my bad...that's what I meant. That I think Apocalypse will flop. Not F4 flop, but more like ASM flop. Where they'll wonder if its even worth it anymore. I can see them working something out just like Sony. And it's not just because marvel is gobbling up all the slots, it also because, like spiderman, their universe is limited and can only grow but so much.
