With X-Men: First Class approaching shooting time and the cast rounding out(Still no word on Ice-Man or Angel yet Lee;), Vaughn has brought in his composer from Kick Ass, Henry Jackman. Now where have I heard that surname before?

According to The Playlist..

Jackman doesn't have too much stuff to his own name just yet. He scored "Monsters Vs. Aliens" and you'll hear his work in the upcoming Jack Black comedy "Gulliver's Travels" later this year. But that said, he has lend his talents in smaller music department roles in bigger films like "Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End," "Hancock" and "The Dark Knight"

Well, I'll give him a shot, anyone with that haircut has to be good musically. Seriously though, as we all know Music plays a big part in any movie and there were moments in Kick-Ass's score that really got the mood just right. Remember the Hit Girl rescue scene?

X-Men: First Class shoots this Autumn(Fall for my American chums) and should hit theaters June 3rd 2011.

Great find ROR! :) The music in Kick-Ass was one of the best parts of the movie so I'm really happy with this news.

[frick] FIRST CLASS if they don't use the ORIGINAL 5, no matter how good the music is...

FOX can stick it where the sun don't shine!

We need an awesome FIRST CLASS FOX... not a crappy one! : P

hehehe, Lee you never disappoint. have you thought about writing a letter to Fox? maybe when they hear how passionate you are about it they'll halt production..

I watched Kick-Ass on DVD first and the music was the first thing I noticed. I could just set there with the menu up and let the theme play. One of the best scored movies I have heard in a long time. If its so good you notice, its really really good.

unless its a reboot,x-men first class is pointless.

should of just made x-men 4 & tried to save this franchise.

i still watch it,but it still should of been the original team.

the only thing going for it is,alice eve dressed up in emma frosts outfit.

can't wait to see that.

Ok, I loved Kick-Ass but it's hard to give that guy a lot of credit when two of the best tracks in the film were ACTUALLY composer John Murphy's (who also worked on Kick-Ass).

When Big Daddy kills all those mobsters in front of the teddy-cam? "In The House - In A Heartbeat" from 28 Days Later.

Hit-Girl's big rescue? "Adagio in D Minor" from Sunshine. In fact, I believe 4 other scenes used "Adagio in D Minor" in some way/shape/form.

Vaughn wants a great score? Get John Murphy, not this guy.

There was an original score to Kick-Ass? I remember two original songs for the score and those were by John Murphy.
@deadpool72, They kind of killed off three main characters, I understand why they're not doing the sequel.

So, this guy didn't write that killer piece that plays over the disc menu and at the end when they're flying away on the jet pack?

The music in Kick Ass played a major part in its greatness.

It's funny how each time there's a post about X-men: First Class, the thumbnail pic is of the original five, when in fact they all won't be in the film.

Loved the Kick-Ass score, but don't give all the credit to Mr. Jackman up there. I think 3 other composers worked on it. I'll have to check my Blu-Ray for the exact number.

Original? The score was straight ripped off of Sunshine by John Murphy!

@deadpool72, yes but those are the comics. If they do it all the time in movies, it will come off like Elektra.
@grif (if you're talking to me): Yes, but X-Men neeeeeeeeeds Cyclops, Jean Grey and the Prof. If it goes on without them, that's like making a Spider-Man without Spider-Man.
