Avengers Age of Ultron- An Overly Stuffed Yet Fun Ride.

Following up The Avengers was always going to be a hard task. Add to that the need to set up multiple sequels to other films and the balancing act becomes much harder.

On our way towards Avengers End Game we arrive upon the 2nd Avengers movie, Age of Ultron. This is one of those movies that is tasked with doing way too much without ever being give the room or time to do anything solid with any of it. Tasked with being a sequel to Avengers, setting up sequels for all its lead heroes as well as delivering a solid story of its own, Age of Ultron can feel at times a tad messy and cluttered for its own good.

This is also the movie that broke Joss Whedon. He claims the studio were all over him to make a fantastic sequel whilst also ticking a very long list of other duties as well. It is a shame Marvel didn't learn from the likes of Iron Man 2 which was tasked with doing an awful lot as well. Be a great sequel to Iron Man, scrub away thoughts of The Incredible Hulk, set up new characters and set up The Avengers. This film also made Jon Favreau step back from Iron Man 3 duties. Hmm, maybe Marvel should just take their paws of the rudder and let these directors follow up great first films with even better second films that have just one task; be a great sequel to what came before.
