Earlier this year, it was reported that Arcana Comics and Benderspink were teaming up to launch the label ArcanaBenderspink, which would produce comic books that can be adapted to film or television (click here for the full list of comics). One of these is the graphic novel The Order, in which "The Vatican has created an elite group of agents to travel the world and combat supernatural forces.". Now, Deadline reports that Scott Stuber's Bluegrass Films (who are coming off of Ted and recently wrapped Identity Thief) has optioned the planned film adaptation. Brian Nathanson (The Many Deaths Of Barnaby James) is set to write the script.

Stuber will produce The Order with Benderspink, and the project will be overseen by Bluegrass Films' Michael Clear and Nick Nesbitt and Benderspink's Jake Weiner and Christopher Cosmos. Arcana's Sean O’Reilly will serve as an executive producer.
