After MGM went bankrupt the fate of James Bond seemed unsure. Now MGM has recently emerged from their bankruptcy problems and plan to have Bond back on the fast tracks to theaters with a return scheduled for 2012. MGM also announced that following the 23rd Bond movie in 2012 a sequel will be released every two years. David Arnold composer of Bond films such as Tomorrow Never Dies, Casino Royale, and Quantum Of Solace confirms not only that the movie is moving forward but that Daniel Craig will return as Bond:

I haven't thought about it yet. We only just got the news that we're back on. But 'there’s many a slip twixt cup and lip' So I will keep quiet until I get a script and then start writing ideas. I just hope the next one is as good as my favorites, as I think everyone does. And I'm always interested in what Daniel Craig brings to the part. But like most things with movies, if it ain't on the page etc… All I can say is that I'm looking forward to a great script for it, alongside every other Bond fan in the world!

With a few more Bond films Craig could easily give Moore a run for his money penny as 2nd best Bond of all time.

@ckal: I second that statement.

I think that Pierce Brosnan was the best bond, then Craig, then Sean Connery. Golden Eye and Casino Royale are the best bond movies to date IMO. And what do you know? They were both directed by Martin Campbell who is now directing Green Lantern! That is one reason I am excited for Green Lantern (even though the cgi looks like crap right now)

Can't wait for the next one!!

In my opinion and those are like buttholes , everyone has one, Sean Connery was def the best of the bonds. I mean sure Craig would have been best but I am saying for the period pieces they were and the time they were made. I would love to see Clive Owen as James Bond ...that would be interesting.

@fanboy: Dude, I've thought about that a lot. I just don't know if Owen could pull off the suave nature of Bond. He sure can be and look like a badass, but I don't know if he could pull off the balance... he looks goofy. Then, again, Craig looks a little goofy, too soooo....

@Smith I totally agree with you about your Bond comments. I think we all agree that Moore although goofy, that Dalton was by far the worst Bond ever. I too wasnt sure about he blonde haired blue eyed Craig as 007 at first but when I went watched Casino at the theater and he was free running and basically going ape shit on people I was like wow this guy rocks.
I especially agree with you said about continuity and emotion. weird how Casino Royale was one of the first bond books but never became a movie until within the last 5 years.
As far as the emotion I liked them showing him in BnW getting his first kill and etc and showing him getting promoted to 007 status.
Alot of people dont realize that James Bond is not the actual name of the character. its more of a codename for them. its a name they take when they get promoted to 00 status. Im not sure if each 00 has a diff code name or not. Ill have to research it more.
As far as my Clive Owen choice. I think Bond can be a very dry character with that witty Britt humor and some sarcasm. Owen would be perfect for it, Think Owens dry non emotional persona from Sin City and his athleticism from shoot em up. We all know hes got good acting chops and hes def got the look and sound of a bond. To me he actually kind of reminds me of Pierce Brosnan in a lot of ways except maybe not as man pretty.

yeah I agree. I am really glad they brought a more athletic but darker gritty experience to the movie goer. I really like the direction they took.

I dont know how many other bond books havent been made in to movies but where do they go now?
create their own purely film based plot instead of pulling it from the books or do they start rebooting already made bond movies?
