Jackie Chan Talks THE EXPENDABLES 3 And Reveals Which Superhero He Would Most Like To Play

Action movie fans have been clamouring for Jackie Chan to appear in The Expendables franchise for years, and the success of the second instalment has meant that talk of that has started all over again. In an interview with IGN Movies, Chan had this to say about those reports and whether he's actually interested in turning up alongside the likes of Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and Jason Statham. "I haven’t signed anything yet or even seen a script to Expendable 3," he confirmed. "But they’ve approached me and if the role is big enough I will take it. They offered me a part on Expendables 2 but the role was too small and I want my role to be special. I want a big part. Preferably fighting baddies alongside Sylvester Stallone." As for which superhero role he would most like to play, the actor jokingly revealed that he wouldn't say no to replacing Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark; Iron Chan?! "I really want to play Iron Man but I don’t think the audiences want to see me as Iron Man. Anyway, nobody pays me big money to make this kind of movie. I love Iron Man and this kind of movie, but no one hires me. Fools!"

Grif

Kind of like how RDJ hired the screenwriter from his movie, Tropic Thunder to write Iron Man 2? Or like how RDJ got Shane Black to direct Iron Man 3?

Anyways Jackie Chan is the shit. Loved his movies and animated series as a kid.

He should've replaced RDJ after Iron Man 1. At least then we would've got some action in the sequels.

I am glad to see he has changed his mind. If you look up info on Jackie he recently said he was retiring from movies. He said he has done something like 100 movies and he is tired and doesn't want to push his luck and end up in a wheelchair. He mentioned maybe a return for a Rush Hour 4 but that was it. I know he would be someone for The Expendables. Again I am glad to see he is like all the other retirees that never are or stay retired.

Jackie Chan isn't suitable for any role in the DC or Marvel movies. Get real.
well ok he could be Dr. Strange 's man servant. But that's it.

Just like Jamie foxx playing electro, it could happen but I don't want to see it. To me Jackie Chan didn't seem pissy in the interview, he just wants a bigger role which is understandable and I'm sure he was joking about the Iron Man part.

Jackie Chan in a Marvel role?

Hmmm..Yu-Ti,the August Personage In Jade!

With Bolo Yeung as Lei Kung the Thunderer....

And Gordon Liu as the Ancient One!

Add Donny Yen as Shang-Chi,get John Woo to direct,Yuen Woo-Ping to choreograph it....

This has possibilities...

If it were the early '80's,of course. sigh....

Jackie used to be the man... his old stuff was amazing, but he SERIOUSLY sold out and hasnt made a decent action film for a while outside of dramas and chinese epics. He definitely has a controlling power-hungry thing going on these days, and his work is nowhere near as good as it once was. First the affair, now this lunacy? For shame, Jackie.
