The cast of Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part Two continues to grow as director Chris McQuarrie has announced the addition of Inuit actress Lucy Tulugarjuk (Atanarjuat: The Fast Runner; Tia and Piujuq) and Rolf Saxon (Mission: Impossible; Tomorrow Never Dies) to the massive ensemble cast.
Saxon played CIA Analyst William Donloe in the original Mission: Impossible from 1996, and featured opposite Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt in the iconic vault scene, where the ace IMF agent managed to steal the NOC list right out from under him.
According to Variety, since the events of that movie, "Donloe was promptly fired and reassigned to a polar substation in Alaska," where it seems like he'll cross paths with Hunt again. Now, whether their second encounter will turn out more favorably for him remains to be seen, but it's certainly another cool callback to the Brian De Palma-directed classic that started this nearly thirty-year adventure.
Saxon is actually the fourth member of the cast (that we know of) that also appeared in the first Mission: Impossible film, joining Cruise, Ving Rhames, and Henry Czerny.

In addition to Cruise as the headliner, the highly anticipated McQ-directed action blockbuster will also see the return of Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, Academy Award-nominee Vanessa Kirby as the White Widow, Frederick Schmidt as Zola, and Henry Czerny as Eugene Kittridge.
Newcomers to the franchise include Hayley Atwell (Avengers: Endgame; Captain America: The First Avenger) as Grace, Shea Whigham (Perry Mason; Marvel's Agent Carter), Pom Klementieff (Avengers: Endgame; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), Esai Morales (Titans; La Bamba), Rob Delaney (Deadpool 2; Hobbs & Shaw), Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride; Saw), Indira Varma (Game of Thrones; Carnival Row), Mark Gatiss (The Father; The Favourite), Charles Parnell (Top Gun: Maverick; Transformers: Age of Extinction), Greg Tarzan Davis (Top Gun: Maverick; Grey's Anatomy), Mariela Garriga (NCIS; NCIS: Los Angeles), Marcin Dorociński (The Queen's Gambit; Vikings: Valhalla), Lampros Kalfuntzos (No Time to Die; Ted Lasso), and Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso; Game of Thrones).
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One lights the fuse in theaters on July 14, 2023; with the rumored franchise finale, Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part Two, set to arrive the following year on June 28, 2024.
