Welcome to the debut episode of Roll Credits, a new podcast with myself, your friendly neighbourhood @RorMachine, and fellow film-fan/critic Sean Connolly (@TheSonicScrew).

The podcast will primarily focus on film and television, but we will occasionally branch out into related media such as video games, comic books, music, and whatever else happens to be in the news.

In this first episode, we chat about some of the biggest stories of the past week or so, including that first official Deadpool 3 set photo featuring Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) in his comic-accurate costume, surprising Superman: Legacy casting additions, Marvel Studios' latest Disney+ series, Secret Invasion, new trailers for Blue Beetle, Wonka, and Ahsoka, and more.

We also discuss the recent WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, and the impact they're certain to have on upcoming releases and the film/TV industries in general.

Finally, we both give our verdicts on last week's big theatrical release, Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1, and preview what's to come on the next episode.

Have a listen in the player below (even if it's just to make fun or our accents), and any likes, subscribes, follows, shares, or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

So that's what Ror sounds like.

Gotta say though, The Flash flopping, to me, says nothing about Michael Keaton's Batman.

Star Wars brought back Luke, Leia and Han from 1983, Top Gun was 1987. It's not about Keaton. It's more likely to do with Ezra and the DCEU brand. If The Flash had actually gone back to Sam Raimi's Spider-Man universe and teamed up with Tobey Maguire, or gone to a galaxy far, far away with Luke, Han and Leia, it would still have flopped.

@ObserverIO - No I don't think Batman had anything to do with it flopping, I just thought his presence would be more of a selling point.

@MarkCassidy - So did I. I even predicted a bold $1 Billy earlier this year. Boy did I get egg on my face.

@MarkCassidy - I dont think Keston is viewed as the definitive batman by many. Bale being in this may have elevated it much more.

Good to see Quality movies making waves again. Barbie isn't my cup of tea but I'm glad it's getting great praise for those that are the audience for it. Oppenheimer looks great and so does Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning. Let's see if Five Nights at Freddy's, The Last Voyage of the Demeter, The Marvels, and Saw X can keep the momentum going. But I feel like Saw X is such a tired I.P that it will be difficult to convince the masses to commit. Saw 3D and Jigsaw were abysmal
Spiral was decent.
