More From M. Night Shyamalan On Unbreakable 2!

The director of Avatar: The Last Airbender briefly talks about why it's important for him to find the right story for Unbreakable 2...

Although it wasnt actually based on a comic book, 2000's Unbreakable is undoubtedly one of the best superhero movies ever made. With the recent news that Shyamalan plans on reuniting with Bruce Willis for an "unknown project", fans of the movie are now hoping that we'll see a sequel sooner rather than later. And here, the director gives an update about how he'd go about finding the right story for the rumoured follow up.

"I just have to think of the right story," the filmmaker told MTV News.

"If I think of the right story — and by that I mean something that resonates with me right now, you know, at my age and where I am and what movie I've come off of — if I can do that, then I'll get really excited and I'll write a draft and I'll go beg Disney for us to be able to make it."

That movie he has coming out soon is not Unbreakable 2. I REALLY wish it was, but it's not. I've read some details on it recently that put it out of the realm of Unbreakable.

Good find tho! @Josh

My favorite Shamalangadingdong movie

Hope you're right LEEE...

He should just leave it be. I don't see him making a good sequel to this, ever.

I have the perfect story.

Dave Dunn, the Unbreakable man, learns that he also has the power to "bend air". While going on with his life, he starts to notice strange symbols appearing in his front yard, and worse, its also happening at all the houses in his neighborhood.

Dunn then begins to investigate. While looking into the strange phenomenon, he decides to talk to the mysterious mermaid that lives in his swimming pool.

She tells him that all the grass is trying to wreak revenge on the residents of the neighborhood, because apparently they cut their grass too much, and, as you can imagine, this pisses the grass off.

Dunn sets up a meeting with the hierarchy of the United Grass Liberation Front. It is revealed to him, in a very over dramatic, and ridiculous way, that the grass is only doing the bidding of...ALIEN INVADERS!! HOLY CROW!!!!

As Dunn learns this horrible, yet shocking news, the aliens have already begun invading. On his way back home to protect his family, he encounters numerous aliens, and to his surprise, his newly found "air bending" powers are useless against the aliens' years of kung fu training.

Just when everything looks bleak, his sprinklers come on. "MDHGU-YOOJLKJG...WAGLO! UOR ULNE LOSAGHL" scream the aliens. This roughly translates to, "OH NO...WATER! OUR ONLY WEAKNESS." Dunn is shocked to find that he has so much in common with the aliens.

Dunn then uses his "air bending" powers to blow all the water from his swimming pool at the remaining aliens in a very anti-climactic ending. He has saved the neighborhood! (All except the mermaid in his pool, because she needed that water to live, but Dunn realizes that sacrifices needed to be made.)

Dunn's son runs to him and tries to give him a hug, but to no avail. His son's arms go through him, as if he were some kind of apparition. OMG!!!!! HE'S BEEN DEAD THE WHOLE TIME!!!! HE REALLY DIED BACK IN THE TRAIN CRASH THAT WE ALL THOUGHT HE SURVIVED! HE WASN'T UNBREAKABLE AT ALL, JUST DEAD AND A GHOST!!!

wow M. Knight, ya fooled us all again.

Yeah, I'm with LEE on this one!

LMAO CDB! :D You should turn that into a screenplay and sell it to the guy - he'll love it! And Unbreakable is also probably the only movie I've enjoyed of his. The Sixth Sense was ok but I already knew the twist so it all felt a bit pointless!

Guys RT community if giving Airbender a 76% approval. Only the stupid critics(who shouldnt be even called this) bashed the film. I always go based off the general pop not what some couch potato that pulls a paycheck to review a movie. A lot of critics these days are bashing movies that shouldnt be.

Personally, I didn't like Unbreakable. The benching scene was dumb. He didn't do any research at all. He would have used much higher weights if he had. All of his movies since Sixth Sense have sucked.

I'll take a look at Airbender after it comes to TV.

Unbreakable 2 doesn't really excite me at all.

Hopefully he has A good movie left in him. "Sixth Sense" and "Unbreakable" are it. They were the only two 'watchable' movies. He is so tapped he should be George Lucas' assistant...in retirement.

@Tsavong... Man you arent kidding, I was all into The Village and then it was a huge WTF just happened.

As for TLA, i dont pay attention to the Critics since most never watched the show. I will check it out, most likely DVD since i have kids and can never leave the house haha.

The only film of his that I didn't like was The Happening...until The Last Airbender happened. I know not everyone digs his style, but he made so many directing mistakes that just shouldn't have happened. Lame. So lame. I no longer trust this man.

I can admit that I liked the first 3(not including Stuart Little). Even the simplistic solution to Signs didn't deter me from what I actually like about the movie. Every movie since has been garabage, absolute garbage. I thought Airbender might have had something to it, but I'm going to wait it out a bit and see what the community says about it.

Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and Signs were All Good movies imho. I liked the village and lady in the water also (not as much as the other 3) at least they were original. The Happening Sucked! I have not seen Last Air Bender yet, but I will go see it on Saturday. I think if they did the story right, Unbreakable 2 would be SWEEETT! ! !

@CorndogBurglar LMFAO Your story was Hilarious!
