Nicolas Cage Is "Nick Cage" In The Trailer For The Action/Comedy THE UNBEARABLE WEIGHT OF MASSIVE TALENT

Nicolas Cage is Nick Cage in the movie we've all been waiting for, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Lionsgate has finally released a trailer for the upcoming action-comedy, which will see the Academy Award-winner play a hyper-fictionalized version of himself.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, he explains, "['Nick Cage'] is an invented version of Nic Cage. The character is feeling unfulfilled and contending with the rejection that can happen so often in the small town that is Hollywood. It's not me. I'm feeling pretty good about things."

He'll be playing dual roles in the film, "Nick" and "Nicky," who is a younger version of the actor and a figment of his own imagination. "He's got the lanky long hair; he's just constantly riding Nick about his career choices. I wasn't too excited about the idea of playing myself, but when Tom sent me this script, Nicky reminded me a little of Jerry Lewis' Buddy Love in The Nutty Professor. I always admired what he did with that movie. For me, Nicky steals the show."

In addition to Cage, the cast will feature Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian; Game of Thrones), Neil Patrick Harris (The Matrix Resurrections; Harold & Kumar), Sharon Horgan (Catastrophe; Together), newcomer Lily Sheen, and Tiffany Haddish (The Card CounterBad Trip).

Check out the trailer below:

Nicolas Cage stars as... Nick Cage in the action-comedy "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent." Creatively unfulfilled and facing financial ruin, the fictionalized version of Cage must accept a $1 million offer to attend the birthday of a dangerous superfan (Pedro Pascal). Things take a wildly unexpected turn when Cage is recruited by a CIA operative (Tiffany Haddish) and forced to live up to his own legend, channeling his most iconic and beloved on-screen characters in order to save himself and his loved ones. With a career built for this very moment, the seminal award-winning actor must take on the role of a lifetime: Nicolas Cage.

Cage had to do some bad movies after getting ripped off. But he has a super-power or something that makes those movies watchable. It's really amazing. He should've been like Eastwood and Cruise and had a long career as a top box office draw.

This is the movie I've been waiting all my life for. Seriously, my first words were "Nic-nic". Every year for Halloween I dress up as a different Nic Cage character. I have that exact image from Reeds2Much's post tattooed on my right arm (had to have the tattoo of my wife's name removed to make room for it). I have no idea what the actual paint color is on the walls in any room in my house because they are all wallpapered over with his movie posters. I named my first child Nicholas Cage (and she's a girl). I will literally get 16 booster hots and wear a biohazard suit to see this in the theaters, even if I have to sit on someone's lap with every showing undoubtedly being sold out. THIS MOVIE WAS MADE FOR ME!!!!

I want Nic Cage to play MCU's REAL Norman Osborn.

Please don't write any No Way Home spoilers.

I just think that Norman should be more than a one-movie villain.

Imagine Nic Cage leading Dark Avengers, Goblin's evil laugh, his rivalry with an almost adult Peter.

I mean Holland vs. Cage? That MUST happen!

His age fits also pretty well, I mean he has a strong physique, and he isn't 70 years old like a certain actor. No hate towards Defoe tho, I just think MCU shouldn't take characters from diferent universes (you know what I mean).
