The Winter Soldier Review- Is It Still the MCU's Best Movie?

Marvels Phase 2 got off to a rocky start with Iron Man 3 and Thor The Dark World but the course was corrected when we finally got the Captain America sequel, The Winter Soldier.

Considered by many to be the best MCU movie, Captain America The Winter Soldier has for years been my favorite entry into the decades long series of films. It's darker, gritter and bolder and takes Cap is some interesting directions but for me I just loved seeing a modern political thriller with lashings of espionage thrown in done in a comic book movie. It felt so unique and fresh at the time and the Russo brothers did a great job of bringing a film of this magnitude (pop pop) to life. The Winter Soldier not only delivers us a great villain in Robert Redford's character but a great physical foe in the titular character allowing Cap to face down someone who can actually take his punches.

As we move closer to Avengers End Game, I'll be reviewing all the Marvel Cinematic Universe entries and be looking back at what the did for the MCU on a whole. With that in mind I feel few movies have had the level of impact Winter Soldier has had on the over arcing MCU. It shatters the very design of our heroes world and leaves them in a questionable place which just opens the door for some fun writing.

Feel free to check out the review and let me know your thoughts on Captain America The Winter Soldier in the comments of the video. If you enjoy what you see, consider subscribing to the channel and telling a mate to come and see what's on offer.

It is without a doubt the best solo Avengers movie especially one sans an origin. This led me to 'Age of Ultron' which was fun and good but lacked the real depth of 'Winter Soldier.'

More importantly, it doesn't have plot holes or convenient reshaping of their rules.

The other thing it accomplished: ditching "The Avengers" costume he donned. It looked better in action than static. That's not saying much.
