What is so wrong about voicing an opinion on the direction Warners has taken for green lighting their projects, SiMo? There is enough versions of Tarzan dusting the shelves at your local rental store right now. Bring on some change.

If I may, what is your opinion on this news, SiMo? That is what comments are for. Commenting on the news at hand.

I would love to see a Tarzan franchise...done well... and there is plenty of good Edgar Rice Burroughs material to do three films. He wrote 26 books!

I'd love to see some new Tarzan. No johnny Weismuller Tarzan though. That crap was awful. Like @Ranger14 said there are 26 books out there by ERB and most of them were great stuff. I think one of them even had dinosaurs if memory serves me correct. Tarzan even fought the Germans during WWI. Lots of good stuff to adapt.

I think that Greystoke ( with Christopher Lambert) was VERY good already

I am interested to see a Tarzan film in live action. But three movies? I think that's a bit much. Tarzan is popular but i don't know if people would want to see a trilogy of a half naked man who thinks he's an ape running around the jungle. One epic film would be enough.

Either way, I want some real psychological sh!t going on when Tarzan meets Jane. Show us how that would really take place in real life and what would make Jane fall in love with such a man. And I hope this film takes place sometime during the 20th Century. I don't want to see a Tarzan in the "modern world".

Tarzan is not a half naked man who thinks he is an ape. He was born in the jungle, travelled the world, fought in WWII, joined the French Foreign Legion, discovered the lost world, had many adventures - all of which would be brilliant adapted to film.

Think Guy Richie's Sherlock Holmes for an idea of what can be done, and how it can extend to three films. The only think I can hope for is that they stay true to at least some of the original stories. I really don't want to see a modern version. Much like Conan, Tarzan should be a period piece set in an alternative universe. Otherwise how're they gonna explain the giant talking apes and Tandor, bitches!

I'm sure nobody saw the Pirates of the Caribbean, a disney movie about a theme park ride, lasting more than one movie, but each one of them was fun and they made a good amount at the box office.

This franchise should be cool.

I really don't know what to say about a Tarzan movie, i'll just wait for a trailer to judge.

Hey, plasticman

Don't pretend you don't understand what I really mean.
I do not criticize comments generally - but I am bored of this nerdy statements on this board. You really think people diversify topics? Go to any news: most wannabe nerds here are grouching and beefing all the time. Half finished movies are criticized for sfx and creative designs are always "pathetic". C'mon - you know what I mean. That's not freedom of expression, it is just poor and disturbing.

I hope it's better than the Casper Van Dien one that came out in the '90's. That one wasn't very good either.

But seriously. Who would they cast as Tarzan? This in one of the best reasons to come to this site, because you always find the best casting ideas. I myself have no idea who would make a good Tarzan. Any contenders?
