Since the release of the Marvel Studios titan, The Avengers (known in some countries as Avengers Assemble), last May, comic book fans have been battling over one question, Which is the better film? Marvel's The Avengers or this years most anticipated film, The Dark Knight Rises?

Marvel has released comic tie-ins for their hit film, such as a seven issue Prelude titled Fury's Big Week and a graphic novel titled Road To The Avengers. Now, it appears Warner Brothers, the company that brought you The Dark Knight Rises, has finally decided to return the favor. Unfortunately, for fans of The Dark Knight Rises, and the larger trilogy it is featured in, the tie-in comics are only available on smart phone apps in digital format.

DC Comics will be releasing a comic tie-in app titled The Dark Knight Rises Prologue (not to be confused with the six minute preview released in IMAX before the films release date) featuring a comic taking place in between the events of The Dark Knight Rises and its predecessor, The Dark Knight.

Also set to release is the Batman Origins app, providing origin stories from the comic book versions of the characters in the film such as Batman, Catwoman, Bane and Scarecrow. Hopefully, for The Dark Knight Rises fans, the Prologue app will provide more information on what we didn't see on screen.

Marvel's The Avengers is the movie that I've enjoyed the most this year. It was so totally awesome with such a team-up of superheroes. Of course there have been superhero team-ups in the past (X-Men, Watchmen, Mystery Men), but none of those movies explained the orgins of each hero by coming out with a movie based on that hero (Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger) before coming out with the Team-up and that's why it broke box-office records.

I enjoyed Avengers but it was a bit too cheesy the on board the flying aircraft carrier thing (wtf?) reminded me of Galaxy quest! Lol! Dark Knight Rises was good but a bit clunky in places.

I loved both films for very different reasons. This looks good, hopefully they've got some talented people working on this.
