Ki Hyun Ryu's Scrapped Designs For A Nightwing And Bat-Family Animated Series

Artist and Animation Director KiHyun Ryu (Avatar:The Legend of Korra) apparently produced some concept art for a solo Nightwing show and an animated show centering on members of the Bat-family.

Scrapped designs by Kihyun Ryu for Nightwing series done before Cartoon Network greenlit Young Justice. Seems that they carried some things from this concept over to Nightwingin Young Justice: Invasion.



As a Nightwing fan, I'm really sad that went with Young Justice (Even though I love the show.) instead of this. And here's some concept art from Ryu for a Batman show.

Harley Quinn started out in Batman: TAS and now is a major Batman villain along with the Joker

That art from the scrapped Batman series wasn't from Ryu, it was from Coran Stone.

Wow, I'm disappointed that this got scrapped. It's been a while since Dick Grayson's had a part in a Batman story. We missed out him actually being the central character this time.

The "He has now villains" thing is a pathetic excuse. He has plenty of villains from the Dixon Nightwing series. ...You just don't know them. Also.

Batman Beyond. There's a guy that had a ton of villains before his cartoon!

I like the art for the Nightwing show. The Batman Family is cool too but the colors seem off for Robin. Love batgirl's look though. Gotta be Cassandra Cain!

Im glade it got scrapped DC need to concentrate on there other heroes in a decade with had so much surrounding batman e.g. Video Games, Movies, Animated Movies, Cartoons, now I know this is Nightwing but he's still apart of the Batman franchise. Stop with Batman and focus on other characters give people a chance to actually miss seeing the Caped Crusader, and then bring him back.

BUT i imagine they thought it would be doubling up too much with Young Justice still on the air.

VOICE IDEAS AHOY!!!

For the Nightwing series, I would've cast Brandon Routh as the voice of the titular character. I do plan to use Routh as the voice of Dick Grayson in an upcoming fancast...

For the Bat-Family series:
-Timothy Hutton as the voice of Batman/Bruce Wayne
-Sam Lerner as the voice of Robin/Tim Drake
-Will Friedle as the voice of Nightwing/Dick Grayson
-Brenda Song as the voice of Batgirl/Cassandra Cain
-Vanessa Marshall as the voice of Catwoman/Selena Kyle

Nightwing has a ton a enemies like the Minh family, blockbuster, tad, tarantula, torque, those acrobatic twins, lady vic, deathstroke, two face, I'm pretty sure they can work with a few tweaks to torque's origin.
