Marvel has released two new images from the direct to DVD animated film Planet Hulk:

Planet Hulk tells the story of a betrayed Hulk who's been exiled into outer space by Earth’s heroes. The man-monster lands on the distant planet Sakaar, ruled by the tyrannical Red King. Sold into slavery, Hulk becomes the Green Scar, the planet’s mightiest gladiator – but his new masters get more than they bargained for.

The DVD will be available for purchase on DVD or Blur-ay in February 2010.

Sweet, looking forward to this. I don't however, like that the Hulk design in this movie is smaller compared to that of Hulk vs.

Yeah! But it still begs the question....is Silver Surfer in the Planet Hulk? Because he was in the comics...that would be pretty cool to see!

@ Ror, King on the INhumans has already lost against him. But I would like to see WWH when he comes back from Sakaar,to see the carnage he leaves with Dr. Strange, Sentry & Ironman Buster suit. That was a great series.

Actually one of the cool parts of WWH would be him forcing some of the good guys into an arena to fight each other...and I really can't wait to see how they animate the warbound, and hear what their voices sound like. I hope this flick is as good as I'm anticipating it to be!

Yeah I know Bolt gets his ass handed to him..but they could prolong it a bit in the movie! It was only because Hulk was in total red rage mode that he defeated Bolt so easily anyway..normally that would be a smackdown and a half.

Kev, sorry yeah Hulk Vs was good..but still should have been better.

And honestly, as far as making these based on storylines goes...they REALLY need to make a Civil War too. Especially with Ultimate Alliance 2 being totally based around it too.

I like seeing Hulk smash. I'll be checking this out for sure. Although, I do wonder if Marvel is trying a bit too hard to try and shove Hulk in everyone's face and make him a bankable franchise. With The Incredible Hulk fresh off the heels of Iron Man, A Hulk vs. DVD, placing the Hulk as the comedic relief and busiest character of the Super Hero Squad show and now Planet Hulk DVD it sure looks that way.

three cheers for marvel and dc turning out great product in this last few years' wave of cell animation movies. does anyone have any idea what jumpstarted this mini-renaissance? i was scared that cell animation was dead and would only be used for second-rate preschool fare in the coming years. i thought pixar killed it off...which i don't understand because cell animation and cg-animation are such grossly different mediums that accomplish such different things on screen. no tirade, i'm just saying...in any case this looks terrific and i'm going to buy it as soon as possible.
