Huh? What's this? Well, it's a Thor animated movie which I had no clue was even in production! Had any of you guys heard of this? I assume this footage debuts on the Planet Hulk DVD. Anyway, check it out!

It seems to focus on Thor and Loki as kids. So it may even function as a prequel of sorts to the upcoming movie. Anyway, watching this, and Planet Hulk really makes me wonder why Marvel doesn't push the boat out and hire well known actors to voice these things as DC does. These voices(especially Thor's) are pretty terrible!

Expect to see Thor: Tales Of Asgard sometime in 2011

Great find ROR! An article I posted earlier (its under "News" somewhere!) about the cancelled Ultimate War animated movie mentioned something about a Thor animated movie but that was apparently about Beta Ray Bill!

NubaX: I'm guessing its so they can release it alongside the live action movie! :)

Next Avengers was good. XD...

I believe there was a "peek look" at this animated movie on the next Avengers dvd. But i'm not sure if it was that dvd or some other.

looks kind of lame. lots to complain about here.

but as long as marvel keeps putting these DVDs out then im fine. so this one might suck, they'll learn and fix it next time. i have faith in marvel.

the animation appears crisp, the voice talent seems perfect, what could go wrong?
one question:
for those who know Norse lore and this comic is based off of and actually builds more to it, why is Sif's hair like that of a raven?

originally, Sif had the fairest hair in all of Asgard.
her hair was golden and in a fit of jealousy, Loki sheared off her hair and replaced with enchanted hair created by trolls.

this film could have explained that and maybe it still does. but so far that is the only thing i have against this movie.

i can't wait to see it!

this movie was announced a long time ago and i think there will be a tv series to accompany this movie. i love thor and can't wait to see it...

This looks pretty amazing. It looks like Marvel's really learned it's lesson after those avenger movies.
Personally I don't have a problem with no name voice cast, does having some bankable actors help sell DVD's? Sure. But so does quality, and while that may have been lacking in the ultimates movies, Hulk VS. was awesome, and it didn't have any big names, and the same with Planet Hulk, it has no names but from the trailers it looks like it's going to be good.

He has to earn the hammer marvel, he just wasn't born with it. From just the little bit here I'm betting the cartoon would show him earning it, triumphing over his arrogance and actually proving himself in battle.

@Wadey-I was thinking the same thing about Sif's hair. These movies tend to gloss over back story like that. This seems like it would be a good tv show.

You don't have to be 9 to enjoy animated shows. As a more mature guy (okay...older guy) I still love watching animated movies and shows. Especially super hero animated movies. I watch them all...even Stan Lee's Mosaic and The Condor. I will definitely be watching this one.

Doctor strange was pretty good multi, I'm always surprised that it doesn't get more attention. The iron man wasn't that bad either.

I'd hate to be the Debbie-downer here, but they should have hired swordsmen who have studied ancient swordplay.
Ror's correct about the voice acting being a little over-done, but the dialogue was well written. And the story looks compelling.

Hey everyone they first previewed this on the Hulk VS. 2 disc DVD.

It was supposed to be released Sept 2009 but clearly got pushed back...Glad to see it's still on I thought it was canceled.

Anyone else see this on the Hulk VS. DVD?

Yeah, I liked Doctor Strange a lot actually betty, it's been a while since I saw it but I remember it being good. However, I'm not sure of it faithfulness to the source as I've never been a huge fan, but I have to say that it entertained me so it succeeded undoubtedly on that front.

There was a preview for this on Hulk Vs. I was shocked when Planet Hulk was announced before this, seeing how this was announced first. Glad it's finally coming.
