                A childhood fav, right here!

The original ThunderCats is an American animated television series that was produced by Rankin/Bass Productions (the same that created the SilverHawks, TigerSharks and The Comic Strip) debuting in 1985, based on the characters created by Tobin "Ted" Wolf. The series follows the adventures of a group of cat-like humanoid aliens. The animation was provided by Pacific Animation Corporation. Season 1 of the show aired in 1985 (65 episodes), followed by a TV movie entitled ThunderCats - HO! in 1986. Seasons 2, 3 and 4 followed a new format of twenty episodes each, starting with a five-part story; these aired from 1987 to 1988, 1988 to 1989, and 1989 to 1990, respectively.

So, is Panthro a secondary character, as he was barely in the other trailer, and this one seems to mainly focus on Lion-O, Tygra and Cheetara? He isn't even in this one.

As much as i want to hate this show for ruining my childhood.. I recently went back and revisited thundercats from the 80's. Its acutally pretty horrible.. Seeing this with an actually decent story behind it, deems it worth for the sword of omens...

I don't remember ever watching the Thundercats when I was a kid but I think this looks pretty good. I will have to find out when it will be on for me to watch it.

I used to watch thundercats religiously back in the 90's on Cartoon Network. I think this is a great new adaptation and doesn't cut corners on animation. Additionally, if you notice it seems that the story in this lore is a continuation from the original as if these are the descendants fated with nearly the same responsibilities. Also panthro and cheetara are in the cloaks when Liono is presented with the sword of omens.

Who knows, maybe they are the undercover bodyguards for Liono, and hence Cheetara always following Liono. Just thoughts.

This is awesome. More old cartoons need to come back with this treatment... not Voltron Force and Transformers Prime.

Holy crap. They went and gave 'em their due an' proper. This looks to be very tight and respectful of the Thundercats lore. And, the anime spin, IMO, really works for this. I loved the Wileykit/cat bit...

I grew up watching the original and im stoked to watch the new one. It looks great from all aspects. The story seems to have more depth, the animation is WAY better, but it still has that old "feel" to it. This will be a good show. The only people who wont like it, are the people who just want to hate.

I watch this back when it came on the CN in the 90's and yeah, like most 80's cartoons thought it was pretty cheesy so I had no interest in a new version but seeing the promos I couldn't help but get excited. I was expecting fail all around but I'm very pleasantly surprised how good this looks. Looks like they did everything a remake is supposed to do, make it fresh, improve on the faults, and be respectful to the source material. Count me in as one of the ones who will be watching.

I hope they use the old theme song, that was the best thing about the original imo. So catchy. Doubt it though since it might not be hip enough for this generation. Meh. XD

Oh, and God bless the soul that downgraded Snarf's role to making cute little 'mew' sounds.
