HUNTER X HUNTER Manga To Resume After Being On Hiatus Since 2014

Yoshihiro Togashi will resume work on his Hunter x Hunter manga for the first time since August 2014. Perhaps Togashi will crank out enough material for the anime to resume as well?

Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine has confirmed that celebrated mangaka Yoshihiro Togashi (49) will resume work on Hunter x Hunter for the first time in roughly a year-and-a-half.  Back in August 2014, Togashi announced that he would be taking a two-week break due to back pain.  Hunter x Hunter remained on hiatus ever since.  Imagine Scott Snyder saying he would take a break in the middle of Death of the Family and not resuming the story for 18 months.  

This actually isn't the first lengthy hiatus Togashi has taken on Hunter x Hunter.  However, the quality of his work (and the incredible retail numbers) is unsurpassed, so fans (and Shonen Jump)  are pretty much at Togashi's mercy.  To date, Hunter x Hunter has sold over 70 million copies in Japan and has spawned two anime series, several OVAs and video games.  

More details on Togashi's return will be revealed when Weekly Shonen Jump goes on sale this Saturday.

Hey Togashi has got a Dragon Quest backlog he needs to get through so if he needs a year and a half off to do it so be it.

Hiatus x Hiatus is coming back?! Huzzah!

Now if only Miura can continue working on Berserk. I know it's coming back in the summer, but damn is it aggravating to see him go on so many breaks!

Hopefully the anime returns. I just recently finished watching it, and man I didn't expect a story,with a 11 year old child being that dark, and deep. And I didn't expect each of the minor characters(Welfin, Ikalgo, Komugi) to have such a huge impact in the plotlines.
