New Kid's Cartoon On The Way Featuring SHE-ZOW; The Transgender Superhero

Kid's cable channel The Hub will debut an animated series called She-Zow, about a boy who uses a magic ring to transform himself into a superhero..that happens to be a girl! Read on for more info and a teaser pic.

Transgenderism seems to have been explored quite a bit in comics recently (Batgirl, Storm Dogs, FF, Red Hood And The Outlaws etc) and now it'll be the basic for a new cartoon. But while those comic books are aimed at teens, She-Zow will target a younger audience in an attempt to raise awareness and promote understanding of the concept early on.



"A 12-year-old boy — named Guy — uses a magic ring to transform himself into a legendary crime fighter. When evil lurks, Guy says, “You go girl!” and becomes SheZow."
