Ant-Man, should we have a Movie?

The Ant-Man film, that Edgar Wright is suppose to be making, is really going no where at this point. Would it be better for him just to appear in The Avengers? Take the jump to see my thoughts.

Ant-Man, has been in developmet hell for a while now. I know many people that have given up on the film. Some are disapointed by this, but it can actually be a good thing.

If there's no Ant-Man film, that can further the possibility of Hank Pym appearing in The Avengers. It was stated a while back that even if a Ant-Man film was made it wouldn't be in the same canon as the Avengers, and he wouldn't of appeared in it.

Hoboes jump on trains to help themselves out. This would be the same with Ant-Man he joined the Avengers. Ant-Man would most likely, have a very low budget and no specific deadlines.

Also the point I find the most disturbing is what Edgar Wright would do to Ant-Man. According to Wright himself:

“I know there’s a big stigma attached to it, mostly because every movie about shrinking has been about people in peril. I think it’d be great to do a shrinking film about a bad-ass secret agent.”

“Even something like The Incredible Shrinking Man, which is a fantastic film, is about a guy in trouble. But this is going to be nothing like that. It’s essentially a high-tech spy heist film with somebody with a very particular power.”

A Ant-Man film, about Hank Pym as a spy. Most of you know the Hulk tv series, with Bill Bixby shared nothing with the comic. I think this will be the same situation if Edgar Wright makes a Ant-Man film. Not tthat im trying to criticise him though, seeing as I loved Shaun of The Dead, and Scott Pilgrim.

Even though a Ant-Man film is still possible, seeing as Marvel likes to have two box office hits a year, and the only film of 2012 is the Avengers, and 2013 Iron Man 3, Ant-Man is stil likely. But is it something we want? Give me your thoughts:

As the film will be made by Marvel Studios im pretty sure it will be in canon but ant-Man will not feature or mos likely even mentioned in the avenger series atleast not until his own film comes into production

"ant-man" should be given a role in "the avengers".

as for a solo film i think it would better as a team up movie.

"the astonishing ant-man" & "the wonderful wasp".

There should be an option in the poll for both!

I want Pym to have a small cameo in The Avengers to introduce him, then have an exploration into the character in a solo film. Then have him is Avengers 2 as a central character :D

in 2012, Marvel has the Avengers, and the Runaways. Also you could count Spidey.

I just hope Edgar gets his head together and starts working on this film asap. He doesnt have any other films coming up so this should be his #1 priority.
I dont have any faults on the Spy thing, I just hope that Pym is a SHIELD scientist and Fury needs his suit for a job and Pym is the only one who could use it so he becomes a "Spy"; I would like the villain to be MODOK/AIM where Pym has to steal info on their projects and buyers, and sabotage their facility. With a Scott Lang cameo in the end where you see a thief steal his costume.

Actually the production on the Runaways has been delayed but i hope they really dont make a solo ant man movie, I think it will be cheesy and boring.
