Ant-Man, has been in developmet hell for a while now. I know many people that have given up on the film. Some are disapointed by this, but it can actually be a good thing.
If there's no Ant-Man film, that can further the possibility of Hank Pym appearing in The Avengers. It was stated a while back that even if a Ant-Man film was made it wouldn't be in the same canon as the Avengers, and he wouldn't of appeared in it.
Hoboes jump on trains to help themselves out. This would be the same with Ant-Man he joined the Avengers. Ant-Man would most likely, have a very low budget and no specific deadlines.
Also the point I find the most disturbing is what Edgar Wright would do to Ant-Man. According to Wright himself:
“I know there’s a big stigma attached to it, mostly because every movie about shrinking has been about people in peril. I think it’d be great to do a shrinking film about a bad-ass secret agent.”
“Even something like The Incredible Shrinking Man, which is a fantastic film, is about a guy in trouble. But this is going to be nothing like that. It’s essentially a high-tech spy heist film with somebody with a very particular power.”
A Ant-Man film, about Hank Pym as a spy. Most of you know the Hulk tv series, with Bill Bixby shared nothing with the comic. I think this will be the same situation if Edgar Wright makes a Ant-Man film. Not tthat im trying to criticise him though, seeing as I loved Shaun of The Dead, and Scott Pilgrim.
Even though a Ant-Man film is still possible, seeing as Marvel likes to have two box office hits a year, and the only film of 2012 is the Avengers, and 2013 Iron Man 3, Ant-Man is stil likely. But is it something we want? Give me your thoughts:
