ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA Character Posters Spotlight M.O.D.O.K., Quaz, Veb, And More

Now that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has been playing in theaters for a week, Marvel Studios has decided to officially unveil M.O.D.O.K. in all his... glory? Check out a new character poster...

Marvel Studios has released a new batch of posters for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, spotlighting some of the MCU threequel's supporting characters.

These latest banners feature Quantum Realm freedom fighters Veb, Jentorra, Quaz, and Xolum, as well as a couple of the more bizarre-looking guys from the bar, Furry Face and Broccoli Guy.

Finally, we have good ol' M.O.D.O.K.

The "Mechanical Organism Designed only For Killing" has proven to be one of the most divisive aspects of the movie. Some appreciate the comic-accurate design, while others think he looks like someone enlarged a low-res print out of actor Corey Stoll's face and superimposed it on to Humpty Dumpty.

Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.

Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania also stars Jonathan Majors as Kang, David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O'Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar.

He would look better if they covered the top of head, and gave him dark under eyes. Maybe blank eyes.

@TheSuperMex - I keep getting confused by people saying "But MODOK was comic accurate! That's just what a big head would look like!" Huh?! In the comics, MODOK looks like a wrinkled, scarred, beastial mutant.

Something like that would be terrifying. This was taking an actor's face and stretching it horizontally.

@DalekCraigWasson - they should have went more like that. Hell they could have had the wrinkles be scars from his Yellowjacket helmet scratching his face up.

@DalekCraigWasson - was hoping for something like 'The Face of Boe' from Dr Who.

@BillyBatson1000 - "Why use interesting practical effects when cheap CGI can do the job and make us more money" - Disney/Marvel

@EgoEgor - Absolutely. And there's SO much talent out there in practical FX.

If your Michael Douglas … you have to make a stand for AntMan4. No returning unless a certain percentage OVER 1% can be filmed in a real actual setting environment.

@IronGenesis - This was the first Ant-Man movie to be 90% VFX. The rest were all practical and filmed on location.

I rewatched the movie yesterday and picked up on an interesting tidbit. When Hank mentions the colony of Ants and how they became technologically advanced he mentions how their existence was centuries ahead due to the time and space. So the Ants basically created tech designed to defeat Kang because they were down there "longer" than he was in their brains and it allowed them to become the dominant species in the Quantum Realm. That is a big foreshadowing I think for Avengers Kang Dynasty. Imagine the Ants creating super advanced Avengers Tech for the normal world?

@SonOfAGif - I just mentioned the ants in another article.

YES, the concept is nuts and they were vital to defeat that Kang.

@Fogs - the movie wasn't perfect but it did set up a lot of potential elements that will be integral for the MCU going forward.

Cocaine Bear is estimated to have beaten Ant-Man 3 Friday.
https://www.reddit.com/r/boxoffice/comments/11b3mk2/early_friday_estimates_cocaine_bear_81m_inc_thu/

Box office for Ant-Man 3 is really not going well, so much so that Cocaine Bear might actually get close to it this weekend also.

Even if that does not occur, this film is looking to be performing worse than Ant-Man and Ant-Man 2 on the daily, it may have opened reasonable strong but it has no legs. It likely won't make as much as Ant-Man 2 ($625m), and given Ant-Man 3 is estimated to have a higher budget ($200m) that would be a failure for both the Ant-Man franchise and the Marvel brand.

Especially so given this film was hyped up as being the most important film since Endgame for some reason. The idea that this could be important going forward requiring people to refer back to it is a disaster that's going to have ripple effects going forward. When people refer to Kang in the MCU, those that saw it, will remember how bad Ant-Man 3 was and that'll taint their viewpoint on Kang and the MCU.

At this stage I think the only film in Phase 5 that might get a good reception is Guardians Of The Galaxy 3, but that's primarily due to people not really viewing it as part of the connected story and more its own thing. With the Guardians, or at least some of them, scheduled to depart the franchise with Guardians Of The Galaxy 3. Though I suspect even Guardians 3 will struggle at the box office due primarily to competition and growing apathy for the MCU.

@Scarilian - Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania grossed $3.78M on Thursday (from 4,345 locations). 2nd Lowest 1st Thursday in MCU history, only above Thor The Dark World’s 3.5M. Total domestic gross stands at $135.11M
