In the following video interview Edgar Wright confirms that work is finally complete on he and Joe Cornish's script for Ant-Man. The director had previously revealed the script had needed "some tweaking" to better fit into the established Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the first draft was actually written before that existed. Wright also says that Marvel allowed him to put Ant-Man on the "back burner" so he could make The World's End

Ant-Man is set to be released on November 6, 2015, and casting should commence over the next few months.

The movie probably won't start filming until Fall 2014, so it's doubtful they'll start casting this year. Probably early in the year. Marvel tends to cast very close to filming, so don't expect to hear anything until April or May.

@mctrinket, why is it difficult to have confidence in the project? We currently don't know anything about the plot. What we do know is that it's a Marvel Cinematic Universe film that has two very good writers and a very good genre director.

At this point, what little we do know about the film falls into to "Pro" column. Until we learn something about the film that doesn't sound good, I can't see any reason not to at least anticipate the movie.

@EpitomeofAwesome

I think filming of it is starting at the beginning of 2014 so yeah the script should be done or well on its way to being done by now.

Are you people insane?

You guys are worried the maker of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Scott Pilgrim will make a bad film?

Edgar Wright is a genius. Joe Cornish is too, making Attack The Block.

This is high quality talent and I applaud Marvel for seizing it

Possible Ant-Man movie taglines: "It's not the size of the boat, it's the motion in the ocean..." Whoops! Scratch that one... That's for something else entirely...

;P

It's hard to come up with a really good one for a superhero that could shrink himself, and not have it sound sex related:

"Size doesn't matter... It's how great you are that does."

"It's not how big you are, it's how great you are."

"Being small doesn't mean you can't be extraordinary."

"Bigger doesn't always mean better."

Lol! See what I mean?

Last one, "Great things come in small packages."

No one thinks its going to be bad, but its financial success might not be so great as its going up against Skyfall 2 which launches on the same day.

I love that Marvel is taking risks with properties less-known by the GA. Every comic reader has a fave book that they believed had a 0% chance of ever being made into a movie. Marvel has shown that nothing is off the table.

(Me, I'm hoping to see STAR BRAND or other New Universe elements make the leap, either as their own thing or as a part of the mainstream continuity, as Marvel has introduced recently).

@LEVITIKUZ I think Marvel Studios should change the release date. That would be the smart move.

They need to give Ant-Man a fighting chance. It's not fair to release the Ant-Man movie on the same day as a James Bond movie.

And supposedly Ant-Man will be adapted as a secret agent in the MCU... That just makes it even worse.
