Aquaman is set to pass the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office this weekend and it's fair to say that the James Wan helmed release has massively exceeded expectations since being released.

As fun as his introduction was in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, it's fair to say that none of us could have expected the King of Atlantis to find such a huge amount of success and Warner Bros. has to be happy about what's shaping up to be their most lucrative franchise since Harry Potter

Now, we have a new batch of concept art from the movie that puts the spotlight on a number of characters and
spoilery moments, including that epic battle with The Trench and some of the crazy creatures that ended up making it into the DC Comics adaptation.

So, to take a look at this artwork, all you guys have to do is hit the "View List" button below.

Lava can't flow freely underwater right? One of the things I had to stop and think about while watching haha.

@BlackBeltJones - You cant actually talk underwater either.

@BlackBeltJones - it can but not for long, and it wouldn't really look like lava flowing on land. You'd have steam coming off of the lava underwater as it cools.

Gorgeous looking movie. It's a shame if it doesn't get nominated for VFX or costume design. Just my opinion.

Art direction was one of the highlights of the film, for sure. Just wish the story had been up to par.

@MrDandy - I suspect that if the main character had a widow's peak and the villains were Krang and Captain Barracuda, no one would have a problem with the story being up to par.

@Baf - I have no idea what you're even referencing. Are those Namor characters?....because I'm not a fan of the character and know near nothing about him besides him popping up every now and then in other comics.

I've read way more Aquaman and am way more familiar with him, even if he too was never my favorite hero.

Black Manta was fine, he wasn't necessary in this one yet at all, but I still missed Michael K Williams. I wish he would've stuck around, like I said the actor they went with was fine, just forgettable. I feel like if you're going to shoehorn in an iconic villain with forgettable lines and little impact on the story, at least cast him with someone that could leave a more memorable impression with what they're given. That was a lame post-credit scene also, I don't care at all about Dr. Shin, we really needed reshoots to include this guy?? I also liked the film a lot, just thinking of minor things.
