Patrick Wilson and James Wan have worked together a number of times over the years, most notably on The Conjuring movies. With that in mind, it probably won't surprise you to learn that when the filmmaker asked him to play the villainous Ocean Master in Aquaman, he didn't hesitate to say yes. That's despite the fact he hadn't seen a script yet and his agents advised him against signing up.
"I signed on before there was a script, before there was anything," Wilson revealed during a recent interview. "My agents were like, ‘Do you know what the role is?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, it’s this guy.’ I show them pictures. [They asked], ‘Is it a big part?’ I’m like, ‘Guys, he’s not going to waste my time. I know that.'" That's pretty amazing and a bold move on his part when he knew next to nothing.
After all, the script could have been terrible and the DC Films Universe didn't have the best of reputations at the time! Still, the signs are all pointing to Aquaman being a hit and excitement is definitely building after that Comic-Con trailer. Are you excited to see Wilson as Orm?
