Alright I hope I'm not rehashing some old news or something that has been debunked, but I was hoping someone could shed some light on this for me. Our good friends over at IMDB.COM are claiming Leonardo Dicaprio to be attached to an Aquaman movie that is eyeing a 2013 release date:

it would be just like DC to come out with a Fish-Whisperer movie before other characters that deserve it more...like the Flash, Wonder Woman, a new Superman...etc etc etc.

just look at the abomination this Lobo movie sounds like it will be. does DC really need to make a Lobo movie before the more relevant characters??

Yes, this is half true... in HBO's Entourage. In this TV show it was rumorred that Leo was in talks to play Auquaman directed by James Cameron (I think). The roll ended up going to Vince and the movie was a HUGE success and beat both Spiderman 1 and 2 for biggest weekend opening at the box office. I think that's kinda funny, because Auquaman is definitely a B-list hero AT BEST. Not saying he's week, but he'd never beat Spiderman in a popularity contest.

I hope that it just stays a rumor. Aquaman isn't just a blond pretty boy. The actor also needs to convey power and command.

ok first of all i hope it is a rumor just because i think aquaman is the LAMEST super hero of all time! He is the F#$cking Dr.Doolittle of the Sea! And yes Leo is a pretty boy but he is also one of the greatest actors of our time. The Departed, The Aviator, Titanic (yes a girly ass movie but you cannot deny the fact every one on here as seen it and cried whenever roses fat ass wouldnt scoot over for leo to get on that goddamn door!), Blood Diamond, and not to mention his latest movie with famed director Martin Scorsese "Shutter Island" (which looks like it will also being amazing). So i was just wondering if there was any merrit behind this rumor but if it where true ti would be the best thing they could possibly do for a pussy ass Aquaman movie...and thats what i have to say but hey thats just me!

Anil or is that an allusion to a******? Why do you assume that I haven't seen him in anything. I have and I really don't think that he conveys what is needed for Aquaman. Just because you have a crush on him doesn't make him suitable for anything.

no offense but Leo is not Aquaman. i wouldn't mind him being Flash or maybe Kyle Rayner/Green Lantern but not Aquaman. Daniel Craig would be a great Aquaman or maybe Benicio Del Toro!

this news is really old and not entirely correct. Leo is not set to star in an aquaman movie, hes suppose to be producing it

Hopefully, they'll pick someone who fits the role better for Aquaman.

A great pick for Aquaman would have been Jason Lewis from a few years ago, but he's too old now.

Justin Hartley did a decent job on Mercy Reef, but he's pretty much established as Green Arrow. Alan Ritchson looks great in the role physically but he's just not a great actor.

They probably need to get an unknown.
