CAPTAIN MARVEL Rumored (Again) For AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON
Marvel superheroine Carol Danvers has been rumored, on and off again, to be making an appearance in Joss Whedon's Avengers sequel for a while now. Last we heard Marvel may have been getting "cold feet" about introducing her, but sources for Bleeding Cool hear differently..
Earlier today, Bleeding Cool posted a report on several Marvel Comics titles that might be for the chop sooner rather than later. They said they weren't sure about Captain Marvel however, and that they'd look into it some more. Well, look into it they did and they've now posted the following update: According to the site, Captain Marvel -- despite relatively poor sales -- is not being cancelled because of strong support from editorial (Bleeding Cool's "gossipy comic book creator" sources?), who also reckon that "yes, Captain Marvel as Carol Danvers will be appearing in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, which might boost the sales of the comic book." Last we heard on this, Marvel were planning t include a cameo appearance for the character, but decided against introducing her cold without a proper set-up. Is it possible that the recent DC announcement of a solo Wonder Woman movie made them rethink things? Anyway, this isn't confirmation by any means, but maybe we'll get more info on it over the next few days.
