Elizabeth Olsen And Aaron Taylor-Johnson Carefully Talk AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON
As Jeremy Renner expresses that he's happy to actually play Hawkeye in The Avengers sequel, Godzilla stars Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson talk vaguely about their Age of Ultron roles.
During the press junket for Legendary's Godzilla, stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen, who play husband and wife in the monstorous film, talked vaguely about playing siblings Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch in Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron. “It’s awesome!” said Olsen (via Screenrant) of now playing Johnson's sister. “You know, we only did a few scenes together for [Godzilla], but we spent time together in Vancouver, and I got to know his family, and we spent time together. And to play really tight twin brother and sister, it’s really lucky it’s not with some guy I jut met or something. I think we both like the fact that we have this other film [Godzilla] in our repertoire. the other movie.” Though Godzilla was Elizabeth Olsen's first CG-heavy movie, she says the Avengers sequel is “such a different world.” “It’s so crazy,” she said. “The main difference is that in Godzilla you’re reacting to something that isn’t there, and in something like ‘Avengers’, you’re approaching and almost interacting with something that’s not there. [Pauses then laughs]. And so that’s what the main difference is for me, right now.” When asked about her first appearance as Wanda Maximoff aka the Scarlet Witch during last month's Captain America: The Winter Solder and what exactly was the character doing, Olsen remain tight-lipped. “What am I doing [in the clip]?” she asks. “Whatever it looks like [Laughs]. I don’t know if I’m allowed to say ANYthing! I’m so terrified about everything Marvel!”
While also speaking with Screenrant during the Godzilla junket, Aaron Taylor-Johnson was even more tight-lipped about his role as Peitro Maximoff aka Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron, or what he calls “the other movie.” “I don’t sort of narrow myself down into any sort of like pocket of genre,” he said of struggles as an actor. “I literally just go on the back of the filmmaker and the character, you know? I have to feel that character, believe that character, relate to him, so on… And the filmmaker is hugely important, because at the end of the day it’s their vision, and you’re going to spend three, six months in that world.” When asked if he struggles with returning to characters for sequels, Johnson says, “I think I’d breach those when it comes to the sequels… I guess so, you know? [Laughs] I’m just taking it one day at a time.”
Another Avengers: Age of Ultron star who's steering clear of Marvel snipers is Jeremy Renner, who featured in several set photos alongside Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson while filming in Italy was underway. During a recent interview with Net Entertainment News, the actor said: “I have to be pretty tight-lipped about [Age of Ultron], but what I can say is that all the Avengers are in it; even some new ones. Some new bad guys, and new good guys. I know I can actually be Clint Barton and Hawkeye in this one, and not be this sort of puppet for Loki this time, which I'm very happy about. It should be very, very fun.” Very informative. Anyhow, check out this recently uploaded Instagram video of a pre-CGI Hulk in action back when Avengers: Age of Ultron was filming in Johannesburg, South Africa. The video shows the Jade Giant raging as South African policemen take aim, but Marvel let us know the scene is part of the Hulk vs. Hulkbuster battle. Also, below the vid is another intruiging tidbit. What do you think?
