Most of the rabid Marvel fanatics were expecting 5 star reviews all around but sadly the critics were a bit truthful on this one. We already have 28 unsatisfiying reviews so far. We can expect some more to drop within the following days. How do you guys feel 'bout Avengers 2? Is it bad? Or Is it horrendous? Comment below and let us know your thoughts on the underperforming sequel!

Joss Whedon sets up the future of the Avengers for the Russo Brothers, but this is no longer exciting. It's exhausting.

Justin Gerber

A $250 million pile of poo.

Jim Schembri

Ultron maintains Marvel's record for solid, entertaining blockbusters but falls down a bit in the "making sense" department.

Rebecca Pahle
Film Journal International

Its problems may not have been so evident if it wasn't trying so hard to surpass the far better movies that preceded it.

Edward Douglas
ComingSoon.net

A lot of movie, where not a lot is special.

Matt Pais

Thin on story, crowded with characters and padded with extraneous action.

Rafer Guzman

The film struggles against the rigid formula that typifies the Marvel universe, but only does so up to a point.

Chris Cabin

Age of Ultron, then, shows what happens when an unstoppable force (Joss Whedon's imagination) meets an immovable object (the Disney/Marvel behemoth).

Dana Stevens

First, you try to understand what the hell is going on. Then you slowly realize that you will never understand what is going on. And, last, you wind up with the distinct impression that, if there was anything to understand, it wasn't worth the sweat.

Anthony Lane

At times it feels like it's a few handfuls of terrific actors away from being a 'Transformers' entry.

Matt Prigge

141 minutes of noise and incident.

Ed Whitfield

Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction.

Ah, as soon as I seen the 'author' I knew where this was going. I really do not see the need to separate negative and positive reviews. This only seems to occur for big event superhero movies like Age of Ultron, Man of Steel etc. very unnecessary!

It's not even like these are full reviews, they are snippets from what I assume are probably positive reviews. Also any reviewer that calls as film a '$250 million pile of poo' can not be a series critic or journalist.

Article should be deleted.

AOU's RT score is the same score as TASM1.

No wonder Josh loves it.

As for me, that does not comfort me since TASM1 is a shit movie.

"I really do not see the need to separate negative and positive reviews"

Why would you separate the negative and positive?
When it is obvious that this article is a collection of negative reviews.

@Darktower: dear, i already seen it and yeah, it wasn't great as the first one. BUT this is CLEARLY an attempt by @jCamer0n, that it's one of the worst anti-Marvel Studios trolls here, to trolls and starts a war.

If this was an article by another user, ok, but c'mon... how i can take seriously an article written by a troll that he's trolling on every Marvel's article?
Darktower
Darktower - 4/29/2015, 4:25 AM

Come on jCamer0n is just sharing news which he finds interesting.. that perfectly fine!!
pus the Article format is not all that bad.. but kind of gud!!.. he put his time n energy to make this article so to share it with us.. we should appreciate him!.. n those comments r not his words. those are the (blood sucking) critics ..
besides even the Site Editors had made similar articles like these about other movies too.. IM3 , WS, Thor2 ,MOS etc regardless of how the critics r .. so ya.. this is very Normal in CBM.com.

This is dedicated to all the ones who talk shit about MOS, i already saw this movie i also find it worse than Avengers 1, like the one who compares to a transformers movie which makes sense
chriskrispy
chriskrispy - 4/29/2015, 5:16 AM
Who honestly gives a shit about RT scores? Man of Steel was technically given a rotten ratimg, yet many of you on this site champion it as the second coming. Watch it for yourself, THEN form an opinion. And [frick] you @jcamer0n, your shit is getting old. Any blockbuster racks up negative reviews just for existing. I don't know if the movie is good or bad yet but a few negative reviews won't sway me.
Darktower
Darktower - 4/29/2015, 5:18 AM
And to think some fans would compare Joss with Chris Nolan. lol!

I think we've just hit superhero exhaustion. This doesn't bode well for future movies. I'll do what I do with all movies and form my own opinion of what I like.

In terms of entertainment, like Avengers, I'm sure it's great.
But storytelling, like with Avengers was just so poor and hugely unoriginal.

I mean I have a good time watching it but in terms of rating it it doesn't go so high for me
jCamer0n
jCamer0n - 4/29/2015, 6:57 AM

All the reviewers I listen to (Schmoes Know, AMC Movie Talk, Chris Stuckmann, Jeremy Jahns, Mr Sunday Movies, and Comicbookgirl19) loved the movie. Even Grace Randolph, who I despise, loved the flick.
hgokuh
hgokuh - 4/29/2015, 7:14 AM
The more I think about the movie, the worst it gets. Many plotholes and stupid actions and decisions of the characters. Stories that go nowhere, like Tony Stark's problems after NY in Iron Man 3. Plus setting up upcoming movies that make some scenes look out of place or plain confusing. I love Josh Whedon and I can't believe he came up with this...
IronHedgehog117
IronHedgehog117 - 4/29/2015, 7:15 AM
I don't think 200 million in under the first week is underperforming. Anyway these are opinions the best way to know what you think on l of the film is to go see it. I recommend it as I've currently seen it twice and off to see it again Friday.
