AVENGERS: ENDGAME - THE ANT-MAN CUT To Screen In IMAX For 1 Week Only; Will Release Alongside Original Film
Following the increasing popularity of Ant-Man’s inclusion in Avengers: Endgame, Marvel Studios has announced Avengers: Endgame - The Ant-Man Cut, featuring an alternate ending to the epic. Check it out…
Ahead of the imminent release of Avengers: Endgame, the culmination of ten years of superhero storytelling, Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige have confirmed an exciting addition to the film’s already historic rollout. Avengers: Endgame - The Ant-Man Cut is slated to debut alongside the film’s original reel on April 26, 2019 in the United States. The movie will feature an alternate ending to Thanos’ reign, but there’s a catch - the cut will screen as an IMAX exclusive.
Earlier this morning, Disney announced the cut via an unprecedented press release, with producer Kevin Feige sounding very eager to share what the alternate ending has in store for fans:
We here at Marvel Studios are very excited to bring Avengers: Endgame - The Ant-Man Cut to IMAX theaters worldwide. Paul Rudd, who wrote the alternate ending himself, has injected a whole new dimension of humor for the Endgame’s third act. Thanos’ butthole is no match for Pym Tech, that’s for sure.
The press release this morning was immediately followed by Paul Rudd dancing via Skype call.
Unfortunately, whatever key components in the third act that occur in The Ant-Man Cut will not be mirrored in the regular theatrical version.
Speculation regarding Ant-Man’s involvement in Endgame has been spreading at a rapid rate as of late, and Feige alluding to Thanos’ butthole only adds fuel to the fire. It remains unknown whether fan speculation had any impact on Marvel’s decision to create an alternate ending.
It will be interesting to see whether online fan theories turn out to be true when Avengers: Endgame - The Ant-Man Cut hits IMAX theaters April 26th. What are you expecting from Avengers: Endgame - The Ant-Man Cut?
