"And I...Am...Iron Man!"
The now immortal words uttered by Tony Stark as he unleashed the power of the Infinity Stones to put an end to Thanos and his army once and for all in
Avengers: Endgame.
Now, Hot Toys has unveiled a "Battle Damaged" Iron Man action figure which depicts the hero in his final moments as he used the Nano Gauntlet to snap his fingers, sacrificing his life in the process. The company has profited massively from making toys featuring the character's likeness over the years, and so it's no great surprise that we're getting this version of Tony.
A lot of cool details are revealed here, including Iron Man's final suit and how the Stones fused themselves to his armour so he could use their power to help Earth's Mightiest Heroes claim victory.

Watching the power of the Infinity Stones surge through Tony's body was legitimately jaw-dropping, and him snapping his fingers had larger ramifications than any of us could have imagined.
After all, while we suspected that the movie would end with Tony Stark's demise, it still came as a shock and it was a surprisingly violent end in some ways as he sat there unable to even talk.
This shield was seen when The Hulk used the Nano Gauntlet to bring everyone back from the dead and it's a cool addition to this figure (providing you're willing to pay extra to get it, of course).
Iron Man's armour was certainly put through the wringer during that final battle with Thanos, but he fared better in the remains of the Avengers Compound than he did during the fight on Titan.
The detail on this figure is phenomenal, and brings back memories of the scenes with Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor fighting the Mad Titan. Those moments were an absolute blast and like something straight from the comics.
The only bad thing about this figure is that there are no purple lines on Tony's face, as the power emanating from the Stones could be seen there in the moments building up to him snapping his fingers.
The figure is meticulously crafted and is a one-of-a-kind collectible, featuring two interchangeable head sculpts including one that's newly developed.
The interchangeable helmeted head comes with LED-light up function and Iron Man's armor has been reproduced with red, gold and charcoal grey coloring with battle damage and weathering effects.
There are LED light-up functions scattered throughout the body, back and Arc Reactor on chest, a battle damaged 1/6th scale Nano Gauntlet as seen in the movie equipped with LED light up function.
Finally, there are matching interchangeable hands mounted with all six Infinity Stones, an energy blade, a pair of claw blasters and a highly elaborated rock diorama dynamic figure stand for the hero.
Hot Toys has also released a battle damaged version of Captain America with Mjolnir and his shattered shield, so those two will look very cool together (we've yet to see the "Bro Thor" action figure).
The writers of
Spider-Man: Far From Home recently revealed that they considered a voice cameo for Tony in the sequel, but decided that would lessen the impact of the hero's demise.
Moving forward, it sounds like Robert Downey Jr. is done with Iron Man, and that's no bad thing as it leaves the door open to new heroes to recieve the spotlight and ensures his death matters.
In the comics, heroes have died so many times that it's now meaningless so it would be a mistake for the MCU to start lessening those stakes by having someone like Iron Man return from the grave.
Of course, we did actually get to see Tony Stark literally rise from his grave in
Spider-Man: Far From Home, but that was just an illusion created by Mysterio to mess with Peter Parker's head.
We only got to spend a couple of movies with Tony's new armour, but these weapons just go to show how inventive he was at the end. Would these upgrades make him overpowered, though?
Tony managing to wrestle the Stones away from Thanos was an amazing moment and clearly something he planned for. The look on the Mad Titan's face when he realised was truly priceless!
Spider-Man comforting Iron Man as he died was truly heartbreaking, and the only person really missing from this scene was Happy Hogan. However, he later got his own touching moment with Morgan.
Moving forward, we don't know what's going to become of the Iron Man mantle. Spider-Man certainly isn't going to inherit it and Gwyneth Paltrow has also decided to move on from the MCU.
That leaves an older Morgan as one possibility, but it seems far more likely that we will see the big screen debut of Riri Williams, a character better known to fans in the comics as Ironheart.
The level of detail here really is impressive, and if you're looking for a way to memorialise Iron Man, it's fair to say that it doesn't really get much better than this awesome figure.
