Depending on what happens to Steve Rogers in Avengers: Infinity War, both Bucky and The Falcon stand an equal chance of becoming the next Captain America. Before we get to that, though, the two characters will reunite next month with Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie reprising their respective roles. The question is, what should we expect from the two heroes when they meet up again?

"We all kind of went on our separate ways after Civil War," Mackie says when asked if Sam Wilson has been fighting alongside Steve and Black Widow since being broken out of The Raft in Captain America: Civil War. "We all kind of went
on our separate ways and we were in hiding because of everything that happened in Civil War. So now, we get the call to rally, and here we are: Avengers 3."

As for Bucky's reunion with his old friend Captain America in this movie, Stan revealed: "It went by fast. It felt pretty natural. We weren’t milking the moment or anything. It is what it is. I think the urgency of the circumstance that we find ourselves in kind of makes things go a little bit quicker."

That's frustratingly vague but Mackie did at least shed some light on Thanos' role in Avengers: Infinity War and reiterated previous comments from those involved with the movie that he's the lead here.

"The great thing is that tonally, how the movie’s working now everyone—it’s not like you see one person who is the lead of the movie. It’s truly an ensemble movie. I would say if anybody is the lead of the movie it’s Thanos. And it’s all of us working around, orbiting Thanos because he’s such a big bad guy. He’s the uber bad guy.  He’s the worst bad guy of all bad guys of all time. So you can’t like put them in three scenes down, then a fight scene at the end. You really have to give them just due. So, our relationship and our scenes are more ensemble-based."

The actors also pointed out that we're going to get more of Bucky and The Falcon's unique "friendship" here so that's definitely something to look forward to. Are you excited to see these two back in action in Avengers: Infinity War next month? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

How many times must someone from this movie tell me Thanos is the lead character to get me excited?

Surprised to see they went their own way. Guess I assumed widow, Falcon and cap were off doing secret avenging in the almost two years since civil war

@Vigor - I think Widow and Cap were, but without Falcon.

@BlindWedjat - I don't think any of them are going to start off together, makes more sense for everyone to be off doing their own thing...draws less heat

A "leaked" plot for Dark Phoenix was found. Take it with a grain of salt, but anything is possible.

@DaHyro - Well that sounds [frick]ing garbage

@DaHyro - If it's true, the villains sound really boring and generic. But I think that's actually a really good plot, though I don't know if it particularly needed Skrulls.

@SupermansTrunks - I think it reads fine honestly. Tye execution might be really poor though

@Ineedrevelation - I hope so :)

WB/DC really blew it with Doomsday. They had a golden opportunity and just threw it all away.

I want to see more of Falcon and Bucky fighting over who’s Cap’s bestest buddy. Then they resolve their differences with the best bro hug ever.

Cap's got too many bros in this movie. Bucky, Falcon, Tony, Thor, heck maybe even T'Challa.
